Quoting: ExodusRa Here in Canada they get preferential treatment and even on job applications they ask if you're a minority so they can bump your chance of an interview higher. It's funny too since Canada still has a higher white/euro population than the US yet already we bend over backwards to those that do not and will never hold the western values Are private businesses required to do that by the government (or do they get incentives, grants, etc.)or is it just one of those sick new things Whites have chosen to do in majority? Just hired 4 people at work. Directive from head office in the US - NO WHITIES, we were supposed to focus on hiring blacks, but none applied, probably because it's an industry that doesn't attract many black people. We got 250 applications from white people several of them with passion and experience in the industry, 20 hispanics, 20 asians and a girl from Russia. The only people I saw as qualified were some of the white people including the Russian girl and one of the hispanics, but we ended up hiring 2 hispanics, 1 asian and we hired one of the white people (we expect to get berated over this from up the chain of command). I don't think they get diversity kick backs from the Canadian government, but word on the street is that they do get a kick back in the US for every diversity hire. Sounds about right. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80064536 Are private businesses required to do that by the government (or do they get incentives, grants, etc.)or is it just one of those sick new things Whites have chosen to do in majority? They get special treatment under the guise of "inclusion". Soon I will be able to claim minority status lmao. These middle Easterners and Africans breed like rabbits. Employment equity, as defined in federal Canadian law by the Employment Equity Act (French: Loi sur l’équité en matière d’emploi), requires federal jurisdiction employers to engage in proactive employment practices to increase the representation of four designated groups: women, people with disabilities, Aboriginal peoples, and visible minorities.[1] The act states that "employment equity means more than treating persons the same way but also requires special measures and the accommodation of differences".[2] The act requires that employers remove barriers to employment that disadvantage members of the four designated groups. The term reasonable accommodation is often used for the removal of such barriers to employment. Examples of employment barriers are wheelchair inaccessible buildings, or recruitment through word-of-mouth only. Employers are also required to institute positive policies for the hiring, training, retention, and promotion of members of the designated groups. Examples of positive policies include recruitment in Aboriginal communities, job advertisements in minority-language newspapers, or an apprentice program directed toward people with disabilities. Except for the disability accessibility requirements, it's kind of vague- but opens employers up for lawsuits, so they have to have things in place to "prove" they are going by the law for that reason. It's stupid. I can tell you now that they NEVER care about the disability part and if they see you're disabled they will reject your application. They only cater to blacks and browns...not even Asians. I've yet to see one disabled person in any of my jobs and I've been to almost 75 jobs already lmao They are very strict in the US about wheel chair accessibility and parking places requirements. I really don't see people with obvious disabilities working (blind, in wheel chairs, etc.). I once went to a grocery store where all their grocery baggers (they were one of the few grocery stores in town that had people to not only bag the groceries but take them out to the car for the customer) had mild down syndrome. I do know in my town no Black people would apply for the firefighter jobs. They city dropped the written requirement- still none. They actively recruited- advertising all over the state specifically for Black people to apply. I think they eventually got one person. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80290938 Interesting you said you can't see... Me too. I have only worn a mask about three times since this started. I don't go anywhere, really, but it's like I can't think with it on. I took someone to the airport yesterday and had to go in to go to the bathroom and it was a million steps to get there. They are under renovation. GRRR. I came out and had to get on the highway right away because I was in a drop off zone and MAN I could hardly think straight. My friend who has bad dyslexia said it is worse with the mask that he has to wear at work. He said he thought he had conquered it but the masks bring it back hard. The masks are awful. The forced mask wearing is psychologically as well as physically abusive. There is a reason why there is a thing called a slave mask and has been used many times through out history to punish people with and make them submissive. The government along with big business is sadistically punishing the general population with mask wearing mandates and getting great delight from it too. These are psychos at the top of our society. Look at how gleeful Fauci was on TV at the idea of double masking kids outside for summer camp in the hot humid weather. He loves torturing people. You can see the gleam in his eye when he thinks how miserable kids will be wearing them and what physical distress they will be in. What a psycho! |
