Hold the line... diamond hands. Quoting: Uncle Gintel Yup. Real businesses that treat employees with dignity, respect and liveable pay have no shortage in labor. It is only the corporate slavemarts that cannot get people to sign up for a minimum wage job offering 20 hours a week which you have to keep your calendar open for because you will have no set schedule, you will be strangled in a face diaper all day and be required to submit to having your brain punctured by an invasive medical procedure at the whim of the manager. They will not find people willing to work under their new slave labor market conditions with invasive medical procedures. And in the states where unemployment has been cut off in hopes of forcing people to take the slave jobs they will be sorely disappointed as well. I am in one of those states. Here is what everyone is doing - "establishing residency" to get pua in a new state. It is simple for alot of us. I personally will be going to stay with my daughter and continue to collect full PUA from my new residence. Others are using PO Boxes. The remainder of people who are not as bright are going to be left in your cities and towns looking for the next victim and home invasion they can commit. Before the convid - 50 grand a year. Then they stole my job and now think they can force me to work at mccdonalds? LOL Its not gonna happen. Not going to work with me or anyone else. They want people to come back to work? Then they have to knock it off with the convid shit and pay decently. Otherwise they will continue to be without workers. Which I applaud, boycott the corporations that brought this clusterfuck upon us. Dont work for them, shop there, or service them with YOUR business in any way shape or form. Let them starve out and die. LOL They will import foreign workers for mcdonalds They can pay them with factory flesh big macs and coke The imported worker is the modern hessian. |

Also funny they are closing during the times that were "senior hour" or "disinfectant hour" last year. So they have this built into their budget already. This is all being done so the Red State good ol boy buger joint owner can drive a few more pions into work. They will fuck the entire south over to avoid paying more to a few food workers. The Republican party needs major revamping. the majority of minimum wage employees are on SNAP to subsidise the corporate fascists who pay no tax Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77935075 Sadly you don't seem to understand that every week those same minimum wage workers make less- because tax is taken out of their paycheck in the form of an interest free loan to our grand government.Don't you think it would be nice to stop taxing the minimum wage worker? |

People are going to pin it on Americans being too lazy to work- but the actual truth is none of those corporate overlords want to approach anything close to a living wage to offset the continuous and increasing inflation, nor are they willing to cut back their bottom line despite said inflation. If the dipshit govt is offering welfare to provide for 30% of Americans' total income (which means full income for the bottom third) and these corporate demons want to continue to offer that bottom 30% just enough hourly compensation to get to and from work and maybe a whole pack of tp to wipe their asses with, then yes- the peasants are going to stop working. It isnt about laziness. It is about trying to enslave people to work for dust and then have them do so under potential penalty from the private non govt tax goons at the IRS thugging for the gov to steal a third of that pittance pay. On income tax that only fed workers are supposed to be charged for. Create a shit system. Get shit results. But they did this all on purpose. If it isn't in The Bible then it is just conspiracy theory. |

Not true, I am in California with minimum wage at $14 per hr. and the problem is very real. No one wants to work because all the government handouts. I kid you not I know of a woman with 3 kids, not married but with her baby daddy for greater than 13 years, he works. She is getting $3,000 a month in food stamps alone. With COVID it was increased by a $1,000 a month. She can’t spend it all so shops and gives food away. Of course they are all obese. I am currently in Lake Tahoe, signs everywhere needing employees. I saw one for a $500 sign on bonus for a cook. Another place had a sign that they are now closed 2 days a week because they don’t have staff. I run two businesses and we have the same problem for jobs ranging from $15.50-$20.00 per hr and we can’t get applicants. By the way this increased livable wage has made a fast food meal on average go to $14-16. All goods are skyrocketing. We are being set-up for a serious fall. Think of all the people relying on government, including businesses, for their paycheck. I get e-mails daily from the SBA with offers for business loans. This isn’t going to end well. |

The Federal government is paying them too much money on extended unemployment so people have no incentive to go to work. This policy, although well intended at the time, is killing small businesses. |

User ID: 79078389 United States 05/08/2021 08:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's that way here in N. Georgia, too, with rolling closings due to no staff. So now we all know what effect Universal Income would have on people and the local economies. Quoting: GA Girl Young adults don't see a reason to work if they get high unemployment for being off. High school kids are mostly too lazy to work. That leaves a lot of older people trying to supplement their pitiful $1000 monthly Social Security checks. However, until you are over full retirement age, you can only make something like $18,000 a year before they take away your Social Security. So the stores are trying to get these older people to work 50 hour weeks, and then they, too, have to quit. They could alleviate much of this by taking out the $18,000 rule for people in their 60s who are still able to work long hours, take away the Unemployment from people who have been out of work for over 6 months, and stop the rent/house payment moratorium. I live in North Georgia as well. I see all the signs everywhere for hiring but haven’t seen the closures yet. I have noticed several places having very small staff and unable to keep up with busy times. It breaks my heart because I know there’s someone there doing the job of 5 people and getting no reward for working extra hard. What places around NGA have you seen closing? |

IF you have a fiat currency, forcing a living wage becomes inflationary pretty quickly. I'm with you, people should be able to live off the wages they get, you want to blame business owners but the real problem is the federal reserve and central banks. Why do you think it was so hard for our forefathers back in the old country? That's right, Europe has been under this kind of a system for a really long time. Why do you think our constitution expressly forbid precisely the banking system we have today? Because our founding fathers knew how such systems erode ones freedom. |
