Why do YOU think YOU DON'T deserve HELL?

It is one thing to encourage, another to view as toys.

Major and I see eye to eye. That does not mean I agree with everything he has to say, only if we have a disagreement we will let the Holy Spirit work in us to figure things out.

But remember there are Salvation issues, and Growth issues.

Don't try to Lighten up Salvation issues.

Growth issues may be done at a different pace.

Make sure you understand this.

God is so great, so loving, so caring, so wonderful that he lets each of us be born a life where we deserve hell , unless we spend enough time on earth worshipping God.

The word "Hell", as depicted in the Bible, means "The Grave" in Greek. In other words....Jesus died, and was in the Grave for 3 days. This would make better sense, meaning someone who was sent to hell forever would no longer exist, and therefore would have no afterlife. What purpose would it serve to be tortured for eternity, without retribution, and no chance for parole? You would think after a few billion years, you would have suffered enough, and "God" would be more merciful toward his creation. It is obvious religion was created by Kings, and Popes, to control the mass, when technology or other means did not exist.

Haven't read through this thread, Preacher Bob, as I have been away on holidays, and it's a very big thread. But I'm sure I won't be in hell, and I'm sorry that you think I will. I'll pray for you....

I dont like the thought of Hell, and while there is such Hell on earth for some people, id like to think that wat happens after death will be a nice expierience.

The word “hell” is used 54 times in the Bible. It is translated from several different words with various meanings, as indicated below:

Did you know it is bad English to say "Have a nice day"? First of all "Have a nice day" is a command, not a statement like "Good Morning", or "Nice Day". It is wrong to command someone to have a nice day, since you cannot give a nice day to anyone. Only a "Supreme Being" is capable of doing this, or....maybe a Witch, or Warlock possibly could. Second, personalizing the command can become very tricky. Only way to properly personalize is to say I "hope" you have a nice day, or I "wish" you a nice day. Impossible to say "I have a nice day", unless you were referring to yourself. Oh...you could say "Have a nice day on me". However, that is still a command only meant for a "God". Get the point?

Have a nice day means I hope you have a nice day, or I wish you a nice day. It does not command, it's short for I wish you a nice day.

Sorry, didn't know what you meant...."wish" or "hope" is two different meanings. Why be allegorical? Say what you mean, and include yourself. It is proper English, and more friendlier than giving someone the short end of the stick.

Your Hell is *not* justice - it's psychotic overkill. Infinite punishment for finite crimes is bad math. . .even we fallen humans try to halfway fit the sentence to the crime. Most of you church-humpers can't conceive of any punishment that does not consist of endless fire, but Christ says we'll each receive due for our deeds. We reap what we sow. The only people who would be in danger of receiving eternal literal fire would be those who somehow burned others endlessly during their brief life on earth ;)

Even Hitler doesn't deserve infinite punishment.

He uses "fire" to purify us. The only thing that it burns up is the old, corrupt nature and its debris. . .

Mankind is full of people who live after the dictates of their senses and instincts. . .for many, their "god" is their belly. To exist as a mere bodily self - eating, mating, and dominating others - makes us little more than an animal (the "beast"). The remedy is "execution", as illustrated in the burnt offerings of the old testament. The enthroned lower nature must be put to death by metaphorical fire.

God has invested too much in all this to just torch us and close the file.
There comes a day when undergoing the purification process is no longer optional and the time arrives to move forward and stop being primates.

No where in your clamorous justifying did you say you did not deserve hell.


You attempt to say that you will reap what you have sowed. So then what you are saying is we all sow Death and we all reap it too.

Are you aware that the words "everlasting" and "for ever" in our English bibles are mistranslations of the original Greek, which actually tells us that such states are "of the Age" and not "endless"? This is some serious stuff which leads us into beliefs that God never had in mind.

Are you aware that this same Hebrew word is used in Jonah's second chapter to indicate how long he was down there? The KJV translates this word into "for ever", but if ya follow the story, we find that a couple days later he's out of the fish, on dry land, safe, and finally doing what God called him to do at the beginning. Does that really sound like his ordeal lasted "forever"?

shĕ'owl, is another term for hell, not everlasting.
