Ukrainian forces continue shelling after Russia declared a ceasefire, the Defense Ministry said.
"Despite the Russian group of troops observing the ceasefire since January 6 12:00 Moscow time, the Kiev regime continued artillery shelling of populated areas and positions of Russian troops," the report said.

The military department specified that in the Krasnoliman direction the AFU fired four times at Russian positions from mortars, and in the area of Belogorovka on LNR territory - three times opened fire from artillery guns. Eight artillery attacks were recorded near Novopavlovka in Zaporizhzhia region.
"Retaliatory fire from Russian troops suppressed the AFU positions from which the shelling was carried out," the Ministry of Defense stressed.
A ceasefire regime has been declared along the entire line of contact by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It will remain in force until 24:00 on January 7. At the same time, Kiev rejected the ceasefire proposal, and the U.S. and its NATO allies said they did not trust Russia.
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, remarked to this effect that Kiev rejected the hand of Christian mercy that Moscow had extended to it for Christmas, but in this case there would be even less trouble and slyness.

A dozen and a half Ukrainian_ Dutch YPR-765 armored personnel carriers entered the eastern part of Bakhmut.

A massive convoy of 16 YPR-765 armored personnel carriers was able to cross the Bakhmutka River and enter the eastern part of the city. The Ukrainian armored vehicles are currently located in the Zabakhmutka area and appear to be used for shelling the eastern outskirts of the city, where the positions of the Wagner PMC are located.

In the video footage filmed on the southeastern outskirts of Bakhmut, one can see the movement of Ukrainian armored vehicles, which are firing at unknown targets in passing. The appearance of these combat vehicles is being recorded in Bakhmut for the first time. This does not rule out the possibility that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun pulling armored vehicles into Bakhmut and plan to organize counterattacks here.


According to sources, video footage of Ukrainian YPR-765 armored personnel carriers was filmed the day before. This indicates that the AFU continue to hold this area on the outskirts of Bakhmut.



This morning it became known that Russian forces managed to take control of the town of Bakhmutskoye, located northeast of Bakhmut. This does not rule out the possibility that AFU units may be encircled.
