The Russian Armed Forces launched a massive missile attack on Ukrainian territory on December 31, 2022. The Russian army attacked the location of the 8th regiment of the Special Operations Forces (SDF) of Ukraine in the city of Khmelnytskyy.

This facility is the largest training center for the AFU Special Forces in the western part of the country. The units that suffered major losses after the Russian army's strikes on the Yavoriv training ground in the Lviv Region were also stationed there.

The 8th SDF regiment sustained colossal damage: there are dozens of "two-hundredths" and "three-hundredths. Foreign instructor officers may have been stationed at the site.

The Russian Armed Forces were able to occupy new advantageous lines in the Donetsk direction after defeating units of the 60th Motorized Infantry Brigade and the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the AFU. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The enemy losses amounted to up to 70 Ukrainian servicemen, four infantry fighting vehicles and five vehicles," the ministry specified.

Due to the complex fire attack in the South Donetsk direction, the Russian military destroyed more than 40 Ukrainian fighters, three armored vehicles and two pickup trucks. Fighting took place near the settlements of Zolotaya Niva and Prechistovka.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Armed Forces launched artillery strikes on positions of the 103rd and 105th brigades in Kharkiv region. The enemy lost 30 servicemen and five pieces of equipment.

In the Krasnolimansky direction, units of the 13th and 95th Airborne Assault Brigades were targeted by Russian artillery. VSU losses amounted to 40 soldiers, three armored personnel carriers and two pickup trucks. [link to military.pravda.ru (secure)]

Polish economic and military decisions suggest that Warsaw will invade Ukraine as early as this year.

Poland is preparing to sweep Western Ukraine of Ukrainian "fauna"
This was reported by Russian presenter and journalist Ruslan Ostashko.

"Poles will get into this conflict in 2023. On their own, separate from NATO. At the moment, already the reserve system of taxation of Ukraine is in Warsaw. They justify this by saying that if there are power outages, the banking and taxation system must function. It has already been transferred to Poland," the host of Channel One said on the air of Radio "KP".

So far, under the guise of mercenaries, they are fighting in Ukraine, and already hundreds of thousands of soldiers are preparing to seize the western territory in 2023. Under the guise of military exercises, Warsaw has announced a covert mobilization. and 200,000 soldiers will soon enter Western Ukraine to defend the territory.

"They don't need Ukrainians themselves. As the Poles say: 'We need native Polish territories, preferably without fauna,'" Ostashko concluded.

World War III has already begun in Ukraine, but Joe Biden's irresponsible policy could provoke several more military conflicts.

Former NATO envoy to Russia: "Taiwan, Korea, Kosovo and Israel will erupt behind Ukraine".
Harry Tabach, a retired U.S. naval officer and former NATO representative to Russia, said.

"Last year the Third World War began, which continues, and there is no end in sight. Today it is not only Ukraine that is meeting this New Year in this situation. Very nervous in Taiwan. Because Chinese planes are already flying into their space, and surrounded by Chinese ships, and China - similar to what happened last January on the border with Ukraine," the expert said in his video blog.

According to him, South Korea is also nervous and unhappy with what is happening in the world as North Korea's drones fly into its territory.

Kosovo and Serbia are also on edge, the analyst said.

"Everything is happening because there is a weak corrupt leader sitting in the White House. And it's only Ukraine that's paying the price so far. And there could be Taiwan, and Korea, and Kosovo, and so on. And Israel," Tabach concluded.

The law restricting media rights in Ukraine, signed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, was criticized by the leader of the French party "Patriots", former MEP Florian Filippo. He wrote about it on his page on Twitter.

"I would like to point out that Zelensky signed a law that allows censorship of any media and opposition parties. Can this be considered normal?", Filippo wondered.

At the end of December, Zelenski signed the law "On the Media", which prohibits positive coverage of Russia's actions. The bill also provides for increased state control over all media outlets.

The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council will become the unified media regulator in Ukraine. The draft law has already been opposed by the country's Union of Journalists.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the new Ukrainian law "On media" will allow to block the media without trial. She stressed that the document violates the norms of the local constitution, but the leadership of Ukraine does not care. [link to 360tv.ru (secure)]

Air defense systems shot down another drone over the sea near Sevastopol. This was reported in his Tlgrm channel by the city's governor Mikhail Razvozzhayev.

"The air defense systems shot down another UAV over the sea. Our military continues to repel the attack. Everyone is asked to remain calm," he wrote.

Earlier, Razvozzhayev said that the air defense system in Sevastopol went off. According to preliminary data, a drone was shot down over the sea. As noted by the governor, all services of the city are working in normal mode. He gave no other details.

Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov earlier reported that Russian air defense forces had destroyed 15 Ukrainian drones in a day. The drones were shot down in Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions, as well as in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.

Ukrainian troops are deprived not only of drones, but also of depots. Russian servicemen destroyed the fuel storage of the AFU Khortitsa troop grouping in Dnepropetrovsk. Within a day, they hit 67 artillery units of the AFU. [link to 360tv.ru (secure)]

Re: January 2023 Ukraine updates.
Former U.S. Air Force and federal law enforcement security officer Christian Orr called electromagnetic shock (EMP) the most dangerous military threat to America. He voiced this opinion in an article for the American portal 19FortyFive.

According to a military expert, a successful EMP strike on the U.S. would be a disaster beyond measure or understanding, essentially ushering in "the end of the world as we know it." Nevertheless, there is nothing the Biden administration can do about it.

Orr explained that when an EMP is used, a thermonuclear weapon explodes 40 kilometers or more above Earth's atmosphere, releasing a burst of gamma rays. These gamma rays affect air molecules, tearing off electrons and accelerating these negatively charged particles to about 90 percent the speed of light. The electrons are attracted by the Earth's magnetic poles, releasing huge levels of electromagnetic radiation onto the planet's surface.

The electrical grid, along with the metal in electronic devices such as computers and radios, then take the full brunt of the EMP that passes through the tiny circuits, probably destroying or severely damaging them. Eventually, all technology, from iPhones to laptops to electronic fuel injection systems in cars to heating and air conditioning systems, will be "totally fried."

As a result, modern post-agrarian and post-industrial society will cease to function, the expert gloomily concluded. He quoted the late U.S. professor, Dr. Prya, who stated that Biden suspended the "Securing the United States Power System," so the U.S. continues to import ultra-high voltage transformers from China, making the United States potentially more vulnerable to EMP and cyber attacks.

As Orr concluded, Iran, Russia, and China equally have the capability to launch EMP strikes against America as part of their military plans, and there is nothing the United States can do about it. [link to rg.ru (secure)]

Re: January 2023 Ukraine updates.
a russian journalist is being humored: ria*

The U.S. is preparing for Russia's "collapse.

While we here in Russia were chopping New Year's Eve olivies and decorating the Christmas tree, our strategic partners were feeling the pinch of sadness on New Year's Eve. Americans remembered the anniversary of the Soviet Union's collapse, lamenting that they hadn't fully dismantled it.
According to many Russian experts, the U.S. failed to notice Russia's recovery and growth. Its economy is self-sufficient and stable, its army is mobile and modern. And most importantly - Russia has not just kept its nuclear stockpile, which is equal to the American one, but has been modernized with the latest technology. So how can Washington live with this?
But there was a glimmer of hope. "Whatever Russia's war in Ukraine ends, it will be <...> the final point of the collapse of the Soviet Union," the experts at the Hudson Institute pondered. - And will mark the fragmentation of the Russian Federation as the legitimate successor to the USSR."
Well, here it is at last. We have been waiting for it. The influential Wall Street Journal reprinted an abridged version of the report. The subject, as we can see, is extremely actual for our opponents. This is not the boring Ukraine, whose leader is always begging for money. This is the goal that, using Ukraine as a battering ram, Washington is actually aiming for.

So how do analysts at the Hudson Institute, which has served the Pentagon for many years, see our future "collapse" and what do they advise the Washington regime to do about it?
For starters, they prefer not to think about what will happen to Russia and the world after we win in Ukraine. Such an option is simply not considered. This whole post-apocalyptic report is built on the assumption that Moscow will "fail" in Ukraine. In such a case, the authors believe, a full range of turbulence awaits Russia, from revolution to civil war.
The picture of our country's defeat is painted in broad strokes: "If Russia loses in Ukraine, but is not destroyed, an atmosphere of suspicion and vindictiveness, reminiscent of Weimar Germany, will prevail there.
The authors believe that the source of turbulence is the Russian PMCs, as well as the national battalions. Upon return after the CVO, the mobilized citizens will not find a job (no, the authors do not explain why this will happen) and will be full of resentment.
The report notes that there are 83 subjects of the Russian Federation, which raises another question about the professionalism of the authors, since there are 89 regions in the country. Even if we assume that the document deliberately ignores four new regions (DNR, LNR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions), it takes outstanding tunnel vision and no less impressive incompetence to pretend that the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol are also not part of Russia. Without citing any sources, experts report, in their favorite style, that there is a "low-level independence movement" in some subjects.

Contrary to reality, for some reason the Hudson Institute believes that the overwhelming percentage of the mobilized belong to national minorities. And so their discontent will fall on the mythical separatism on the ground, and thus everything will detonate. Russian regions will demand independence from Moscow. The country will be "fragmented.
At this point the States will have to quickly get up and control the process of disintegration of Russia. Immediately help the constituent entities that are leaving the Russian Federation to self-determine, recognize and support their independence. Activate NATO and all other military blocs to surround the former Russian Federation with a perimeter. Rip Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Transnistria and Crimea from Russia, push it out of Syria and Africa, take control of Central Asia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The U.S. and the EU "should take advantage of Moscow's weakness in their own interests and <...> conduct a 'big bang' expansion of NATO, admitting as many new members as possible. First and foremost, of course, would be Georgia and Ukraine.
Inside our country, American strategists fantasize, there will be an incessant civil war - something like Yugoslavia at maximum capacity. Conflicts will also arise in many border regions - the Russian-Estonian border, islands in the Caspian Sea, the Kurils, and the Caucasus are named as trouble spots.
The main task of the United States at this stage will be to take the Russian nuclear arsenal under international (read: under their own) control. This, in general, will be the cherished goal, which they have not been able to achieve before.

The U.S. should also take advantage of Russia's collapse to capture those members of the Russian elite and leadership whom it holds responsible for the crisis in Ukraine and to put them on trial internationally.
The Hudson Institute suggests that Washington should help its allies tear away pieces of Russian territory, but not interfere in the infighting within Russia. Here follows a fine, very characteristic caveat for our partners.
"The 1990s showed that the collapse of the USSR did not automatically transform Russian society as many had hoped," they lament. - The United States had better not waste resources on trying to transform Russia's society, economy and government into a Western-style democracy. Such attempts have failed before, they will fail now.

Simply put, the Russians could not be made into Germans or Japanese who lived quietly under American occupation and carried out all orders from Washington. Here I cannot argue with the authors. That is indeed a good point. Russia has remained a sovereign player on a global scale, and our people have retained their independence.
On the whole, the report amazes by the unmotivated nature of its conclusions. There is no answer to the most important question: what kind of existential collapse would have to happen in Russia for it to really start to collapse?
Our economy is quite stable in spite of all the sanctions packages. This winter will show that we actually live better than in Europe. The president's approval ratings have not even been dreamed of by his foreign counterparts. The holding of the USO led to the accession to Russia of four new regions - millions of people, vast territories, developed industry, excellent agro-industry. And this is "we have not yet started anything. At the same time the hatred of our strategic partners has become so obvious that it unites us in itself.

So where are the opportunities for a civil war, for all these bloody conflicts, which with painful voluptuousness describe the Americans? Some warring kingdoms, warlords, post-apocalyptic "Mad Max" style stuff.
But all this is understandable if you look at what this organization is - the Hudson Institute. One of its founders was the legendary futurologist Herman Kahn, author of the theory of deterrence, guaranteed retaliation, the "escalation ladder" of nuclear conflict and the theory of escalation management. The U.S. is still trying to "deter" Russia using his methodology.
Kahn's most famous book is called "On Thermonuclear War" (in parallel with Clausewitz's legendary "On War"). In it he wrote that, in fact, the U.S. could well survive a full-scale nuclear war with the USSR. And the Soviet Union, as a result of that war, would experience chaos - and the country would collapse, falling apart.
The book was published in 1960, and already in 1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis broke out, during which the Americans sensed that things were far from being as simple as they had been with Cohn. Contrary to his cheerful declarations that thirty million dead Americans were an acceptable price to pay for defeating the Soviets, the U.S. leadership tried to avoid a nuclear war after all.
The whole story so captivated the imagination of his contemporaries that Stanley Kubrick, who knew Kahn well, made him the prototype of Dr. Strangelove from his film of the same name - a maniacal Nazi who dreamed of destroying all mankind and built a doomsday machine. This hypothetical doomsday machine was invented by Kahn in his book On Thermonuclear War.
However, Kahn remained in favor with the authorities, his books continued to be published, and he warned readers that he was writing them to mostly intimidate the Soviets. And the Hudson Institute continued after Kahn's death.

In fact, their latest report is a new variation on an old theme. It is a poorly concealed threat of a nuclear attack on Russia. As far back as Kahn dreamed of how such an attack would trigger disintegration processes in the Soviet Union.
All these, of course, are delusional and completely unrealizable fabrications of American fanatics. They don't stand a chance against reality, as the Cuban Missile Crisis proved.
In the end, however, we see a well-planned strategy by Washington to "contain" Russia. They will stick to it in any case. As they put it - "we have a unique chance to drive Russia back into its geopolitical box, and we must not miss it.
The idea, along with the authors, is that Russia's "collapse" should be the "end of history. The West has won and is enjoying the fruits of its victories. NATO is no longer needed, it dissolves itself, the U.S. military leaves Europe.
But there's a reason the Hudson Institute works for the Pentagon. First of all, they say that after Putin, "not Thomas Jefferson will come to power in Russia. <...> He will be a nationalist and authoritarian leader like Putin. Secondly, the authors warn, "Russia will definitely come back. Even if it takes decades to rebuild its defense and economy, Moscow will never abandon its imperial plans for Eastern Europe and <...> will pose a danger to its neighbors.
That is why it is necessary to keep pumping American weapons into Europe and sending more and more of its military there. In essence, there is nothing new in the new report of the Hudson Institute - it is a long-known plan for American aggression on the European continent and the perimeter encirclement of Russia. And then there are the inevitable dreams of our "collapse," to which Washington has long been powerlessly indulging.

The U.S. Justice Department is trying to prevent the disclosure of documents with "sensitive" information concerning the deals of the son and brother of U.S. President Hunter and Jim Biden with China, Russia and Ukraine, the Daily Mail writes, citing Colorado lawyer Kevin Evans.
"The Justice Department is trying to prevent the disclosure of 400 pages of sensitive documents on Hunter and Jim Biden's deals with China, Russia and Ukraine by pretending they don't exist," the publication said.
Evans reportedly filed suit against the Justice Department back in March after the agency refused to comply with his request for relevant data under the federal Freedom of Information Act.
"Government lawyers first acknowledged the existence of at least 400 pages of 'potentially relevant' documents, but are now trying to get away with it, claiming they have 'nothing to confirm or deny' about the records that satisfy his request," the newspaper wrote, citing Evans.

In addition, explosions were also heard in the Desnianskyi district of Kiev, where, according to the capital's mayor Vitaly Klitschko, the air defense system worked, but one of the power facilities was damaged.

It also became known that the Russian military struck an AFU military facility located in Dnipropetrovsk. According to eyewitnesses among local residents, a fire broke out at the scene, which took several hours to extinguish, leaving several blocks of the locality completely de-energized.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian "Solntepecs" destroyed an AFU platoon on the outskirts of Artemivsk. [link to voennoedelo.com (secure)]

The odious freelance advisor to the head of the Ukrainian president's office, Oleksiy Arestovich, continues to make, to put it mildly, controversial political statements this year.

This time he compared the military conflict in Ukraine to the plot of the epic fantasy novel "The Lord of the Rings" and expressed the opinion that a monarchy should be established in the country.

"If we are in the "Lord of the Rings" scenario, and everyone understands this, there should be a return of the king, that is, Aragorn. Is Ukraine ready for a monarchy? And I'll tell you, if you count rationally, the only way to break everything Moscow is to declare a monarchy here. And say that we're picking up the lands of the Rurikovich. Britain has a monarchy, right? Not the worst country in the world."
Shared his opinion in an interview with Oleh Skripka (musician, leader of "Vopli Vidoplyasova" band).
Then Arestovich dived into the historical excursus and noted that the monarchy was restored in Spain after the reign of General Francisco Franco, while in Belgium the royal dynasty was elected only in the XIX century.

He also said that, according to the information he has, there is "a very strong movement" for the return of the monarchical form of government in France. [link to voennoedelo.com (secure)]

A series of powerful explosions took place in Kiev.

Tlgrm channels showed footage of heavy smoke in Kiev after missile strikes on the afternoon of December 31, 2022. An air-raid alarm siren roared across Ukraine. Heavy fires broke out at the affected sites.

Reuters reported at least 10 confirmed explosions in Kiev. According to the Ukrainian publication Strana, some of them occurred in the central districts, where the buildings of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the Security Service of Ukraine and others are located. So far, there is no information about which facilities were destroyed. [link to voennoedelo.com (secure)]

Hey trolls,
Go make your own thread.

Ukraine has purposely targeted women and children since 2014 and are still doing it.

Any civilian casualties caused by Russia in this war so far have been accidental in nature. Russia has followed high ethical standards in this conflict.

Ukraine has committed war crimes daily by continuing to shell civilian areas, torturing prisoners, even killing their own citizens for suspected "cooperation" with Russia when they were occupied by Russia.

So put a sock in it.

"Russia's unprovoked war of aggression," also "unjustified.

Google tells us that this phrase has been repeated 567,000 times in various sources in English alone, hinting that this propagandistic bullshit has been forcefully promoted.
Well, well, you little Goebbels, you have to be more thorough, more thorough.

Let's start with "unsubstantiated.
Immediately after the EWS was announced, the Russian representatives at the UN were presented with the justification as well. Article 51 of the UN Charter describes the right to armed self-defense in some detail.
To quote the source: States may resort to military force in the exercise of the right of self-defense in the event of an armed attack, until the UN Security Council has taken the necessary measures to maintain international peace and security. The UN Charter emphasizes the importance and inviolability of this right, calling it inalienable. The right of self-defense belongs to the State, the victim of the attack. It also decides how to use it. The State must immediately report an armed attack against it to the UN Security Council. The absence of such a report may be regarded as an indication that the state does not consider the measures taken to be self-defense.International law provides for individual and collective self-defense. Individual self-defense is carried out by the State - the victim of a criminal armed attack - alone. It can also decide on collective self-defense and make such a request to other States. Without such a request, other States are not entitled to act in collective self-defense. An example of such self-defense can be seen in the actions of the states that assisted Kuwait after the attack on it by Iraq in 1990. In a number of its decisions, the UN Security Council recognized the right of collective self-defense for any state assisting Kuwait in its just war. The Russian Federation uses military force only in individual or collective self-defense in the event of an armed attack on it and its citizens, on its territory, on its armed forces or other troops, or on its allies.

To clarify for the alternatively gifted with the quacks: The UN allowed anyone to intervene in the war in Kuwait. Even countries that had no military alliances or mutual aid treaties with Kuwait. This is called "collective defense. And Russia officially recognized the DNR and LNR (as much as it would make the Bandera Nazis hysterical) and signed an official treaty of friendship and protection with them.
By way of comparison (especially for the especially stupid morons who grunt about "no one recognized the LPR"), there is the precedent of Kosovo. There, indeed, an unrecognized breakaway region tried to secede from Yugoslavia, and the U.S. and its allies intervened, bombing the entire country with carpet bombing raids.
Moreover, nobody recognized Kosovo at the time, and they had no treaties of friendship or reciprocity with either the U.S. or Europe. So it was pure American aggression against a sovereign state there.
Again, there were not even any referendums on independence in Kosovo (and there were two in the LDNR - one on secession from Ukraine and the other on accession to Russia), so on what legal grounds the Washington morons consider it a "country" - it is unclear.
By the way, there is not a single court decision or resolution that says that "Russia is misinterpreting Article 51 of the UN Charter."
So, Goebbelsyata, you can throw your "unjustified" right into the abyss.

Now for the rest of the points.
So, "unprovoked".
In the Donetsk region from the evening of 18 to the evening of 20 February, the OSCE SMM recorded 2,158 ceasefire violations, including 1,100 explosions.
In the Luhansk region, from the evening of 19 to the evening of 20 February, the OSCE SMM recorded 1,073 ceasefire violations, including 926 explosions.
By 23 February, the situation had deteriorated even further, with several thousand strikes per day by Ukrainian armed forces artillery in Donetsk.
If THIS is "not a provocation," then there was nothing at Pearl Harbor either, and the U.S. began unprovoked military aggression against peace-loving Japan.
What's with the tabloid, the pindos?
Bottom line, "unprovoked" is also obviously flying into the same abyss as "unjustified."

Well and the aggressor in this case is Ukraine. And Russia, which came to the aid of its allies in the LNR and DNR, is the defensive party.
Moreover, it cannot even be called "Ukrainian aggression against the LNR. Because Ukraine, as an entity, does not exist after February 22, 2014.
For first the U.S. (and its allies Germany, France, and Poland) attacked Ukraine, staging an armed coup d'état there. Then the U.S., through its puppet Nazi proxy regime in Kiev, attacked the LDNR.

So it is correct to call these military actions "Unprovoked and unwarranted aggression of the US (against Ukraine and the LPRN)". Moreover, we can quite legitimately (after Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya) add "regular".
Or "US unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression".
Another US unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression. As usual.

"Artemivsk is a fortress in every house. The guys fight for every house, sometimes for more than one day," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Israeli strikes on Damascus destroyed an airstrip.

Overnight, Israeli warplanes launched missile strikes against Syria. Seven of the eight missiles fired by Israeli warplanes struck the runway at Damascus International Airport, rendering the runway completely unusable.

Satellite images show the effects of multiple strikes on the runway at Damascus International Airport. A total of 7 precise hits on the runway could be counted, and the strikes were carried out in such a way as to minimize the possibility of any use of the runway even by light-engine aircraft.

Israeli sources note that the strike on the runway at Damascus International Airport was a warning that Israel controls the interactions between Tehran and Damascus, and that if Syria does not abandon its interactions with Iran, the strikes will be more severe. It is for this reason that the second airstrip was not attacked.

Soldiers of the 96th AFU brigade near Artemivsk told why they cannot fight

Ukrainian soldiers who are near Bakhmut (Artemivsk) have recorded a new appeal to Ukrainian President Zelensky.

"Dear President of Ukraine, Mr. Zelensky! We, the servicemen of the 60th Brigade, 96th Battalion, 3rd Company. We are unable to perform combat missions for several reasons. First, the equipment is in unsatisfactory condition. Second, the PKT armament on the equipment is defective. Third, the batteries are not working. The state of health of 70 percent is unsatisfactory. Many times we reported our problems, but no one responded, we were promised to fulfill them, but no one is fulfilling them. There were 14 days of training. We were shown three buttons and told, "Go and fight! If you don't understand something, read it on the Internet,
stated the soldiers.
The servicemen also noted that after their arrival from the training center no one met them at the front. As for the command, according to the soldier, the officers came to their positions only on January 1. They used a video camera to ask the soldiers whether they refused to serve, and when the soldiers began to list their problems, the camera was turned off and the officers left immediately. In addition, the Ukrainian soldiers complained of chronic fatigue and the absence of promised vacations. [link to voennoedelo.com (secure)]

Emergency blackouts are in effect in Kiev on Tuesday, the Ukrainian energy company Yasno DTEK said.
"Attention. Emergency blackouts are in effect. Shutdown schedules are temporarily out of service until the situation stabilizes," said a message on the website of the power company.
Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko on Monday reported damage to energy infrastructure in the capital and emergency power outages.
The Russian Armed Forces began striking Ukrainian infrastructure on Oct. 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, which Russian authorities said was backed by Ukrainian special services. The strikes targeted energy, defense industry, military administration, and communications facilities across the country. After the strikes on November 15, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that nearly half of the country's energy system had been taken out of service. In December, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that it is now impossible to fully restore Ukraine's energy system. ria*ru

That’s not all that your State Censorship Agency has banned or blocked in Russia.

Not by far.

Russian authorities have blocked or deleted some 138,000 websites since Moscow launched its invasion of neighboring Ukraine in February, the country’s prosecutor general said Monday.

Following over 300 requests from prosecutors, Russia’s communications watchdog Roskomnadzor has censored thousands of websites in a bid to combat “fake news,” according to prosecutor general Igor Krasnov.

The Kremlin has sought to strictly control the narrative of the war at home since invading Ukraine on Feb. 24.

Many of the blocked websites have criticized the war or in Ukraine or referred to it as a “war” or “invasion” rather than the Kremlin’s preferred term “special military operation.”

Criticizing the war or sharing non-Kremlin-approved information about it are both punishable under new laws passed shortly after the invasion.

All of Russia’s independent media has either been blocked or shut down since February, with many journalists fleeing the country to escape prosecution.

Thread: Russian State Censorship Agency Roskomnadzor has blocked 138,000 websites since the Ukraine invasion

As you probably know but perhaps don’t want to admit: limiting free speech and access to information is a hallmark of every authoritarian dictatorship. That has been been the case with every communist dictatorship and it still is.

There aren’t even any independent tv stations or newspapers left in Russia since the war started. Everything is Kremlin owned and operated State Medua.

So OP censored this twice before, but regarding that agit prop video, here are some numbers to put that into perspective

According to TASS, the total number of civilians killed in the 2014 Donbass conflict which is the subject of that video, around 2,600 civilians died as the result of military action by Ukraine, the breakaway “Peoples Republics” and Russia, who invaded Ukraine in 2014.

As of December 26th, a total of 6,884 civilians have been killed since Russia invaded in February 2022, including 428 children.

[link to www.statista.com (secure)]

That doesn’t count perhaps 200,000 more military deaths from both sides.

Who knows when the war will end and the killing will end, but it’s safe to assume that there would not be more than 200,000 dead if Putin had not invaded. And holding up those 2,600 civilians killed in the Donbass eight years ago as justification to invade Ukraine is nonsense.

This will probably get censored again, but it’s objective, on-topic and accurate perspective.

According to the Frenchman, his country's embassy did not give him any support after he was seriously wounded.

According to the soldier, after the torture he lost consciousness, and when he woke up, he had already been sent to the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR). There the fighter was provided with the necessary medical care.

On September 9, Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the Kherson regional administration, stated that part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) that had taken part in the counterattack on the Kherson region had been taken prisoner.

Damn your black soul.

Russian speaking civilians were being blown to bits by artillery on a daily basis for 8 years and you don't think that is provocation for war?

Water supply was shut off to Crimea. People need water to survive.

Ukraine was being fortified to serve as a bulwark to invade Russia.

Let me ask you, what would you do if a bunch of thugs broke into your house killed your wife and daughter, then laughed about it?

All life on this planet has a fundamental right to self protection. It is the most fundamental law. A natural and unalienable birth right.

The actions taken by Ukraine were absolutely a justification for war. People die in wars. So crying about the dead resulting from the war and pointing fingers merely shows how disingenuous you are. Don't start nothing, there won't be nothing. If you start something, then don't cry about it.

Pearl Harbor was a good example. The Japanese only killed a few thousand that day. So do you blame the US for fire bombing Japan? then nuking it? twice? Pretty sure that killed more than 2000 people.

"agitprop". Take your propaganda code-book and shove it up your ass.
