Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73077441 BUT NO. WE ARE ABOVE THE PACK. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. MAKING YOURSELF PART OF THE PACK LEAVES YOU TO BE CHALLENGED. Whatever words you want to use to describe the hierarchy doesn't change the dog's perception to the training and command. I command the pack as alpha, which makes me part of the pack as seen by the dogs. One could as easily make a similar philosophical argument that placing oneself "outside the pack" also opens one to be challenged. Command the dog(s) as alpha. Full stop. . . I ACTUALLY AGREE. IT'S HARD TO SKIRT THE LANGUAGE OF ALPHA. BUT IF YOU PLACE YOURSELF ABOVE A DOG, NATURALLY THE HIERARCHY WILL FALL INTO PLACE. . Cheers! . |

On my chihuahua's most vicious attack, she would barely break skin. The other one is constantly getting sat on or stepped on, can't see straight and if her food is too hard, her teeth break. Are we really comparing these little bastards to the power of a pit bull??? |

If it was the dogs' fault, they would be culled. Since it's the breeders' fault ... When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84325454 If they feel under threat, its kill or be killed for those dogs, and you cannot know what triggers those instincts. The pitbull breed of dog, should be totally and utterly banned, they are way to dangerous to control, and anyone having them around little kids, is asking for trouble, and this family found out. Having a pitbull, is madness, especially around little kids. Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse. Trump WON the 2020 election. I've personally had far worse and far more experiences with German Shepards..those are some sketch dogs. Blue healers? Dang let's not go there. Labs...those ones are 50/50 on temperament but if you've ever been around a mean one they can rival the Germans. Yorkie? Lmao I know more people afraid of Yorkies like they are snakes..and for good reason as plenty of times they've been cataloged taking down dogs 10 times their size like a lab. I've seen it. They aren't called ankle biters for no reason. I dont know what happens in alot of these cases. However I do believe that much of it has to do with how they are handled or not handled. As in..its the people more often than not. Perhaps we should ban people? I wonder if dogs ever have those thoughts. Lol As a runner I can confirm that German Shepard's are bad. I used to run with my English Pointer/English Setter mix (great dogs). I also had trouble with Chows and Rottweilers. Not to say other dogs wouldn't come up and bother us, even small dogs, but not like those 3, thankfully we didn't have as many pits when I was running in neighborhoods and started running in other areas, because of the dog issues. It got so bad it just wasn't worth it. First clue is YOUR RUNNING.... All dogs need to be behind secure fences...period. Exactly. We should be free to run(or walk) without being hassled or attacked by some dog. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |

Quoting: ))Tem Ohp Ab(( My dog was attacked by three pit bulls. I pressed charges for that reason. The owner had a valid reason for having them, to protect his cows from poachers and coyotes, but they could get out of the fence and couldn’t be called off. It took a month for the infection in my dog to clear up. Pits are nasty, mean, and driven to attack in groups. My next door neighbor has a Doberman. He’s really cool, he knows where his property line is and stops there. If I get close he stands there watching me with a cold stare, like don’t do it. I was out jogging and two Dobermans suddenly ran out of a yard...I stopped immediately....and they Did indeed fix me with a cold stare. This went on for about 15 minutes as I was looking for a tree or anything to get up on. The owner finally came out and called them off. |
