It was a good dog but I never trusted it. When it finally died I felt a sigh of relief and swore to never own another one. They are dangerous animals. Although mine wasn't dangerous it could have been at any split second. Very strong dogs that has an instinct to kill or be killed. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84279611 Were they thug dogs or raised to be normal dogs.. it does make a difference.... Pitbulls are used to be danger dogs is the problem...so hense more incidences with the breed...bad owners. I know plenty of pittys and they are the best dogs...and great family dogs... but the breeders were responsible and the owners didnt get them to be mean...and treated them properly... so wheres the whole story to this picture... sad very sad for the children...adults are to blame in this situation... sorry but truth hurts. shouldnt have children that age around any dogs...any breed... kids move fast and funny and scream and alot of breeds and dogs will leave the company of small children... children also hit dogs with toys and pinch and squish an alot of other stuff... I sell shepherds and wont sell to people with toddlers. I tell them to get a small dog first and to teach their toddlers how to behave with an animal...any animal. |

Quoting: ))Tem Ohp Ab(( My dog was attacked by three pit bulls. I pressed charges for that reason. The owner had a valid reason for having them, to protect his cows from poachers and coyotes, but they could get out of the fence and couldn’t be called off. It took a month for the infection in my dog to clear up. Pits are nasty, mean, and driven to attack in groups. My next door neighbor has a Doberman. He’s really cool, he knows where his property line is and stops there. If I get close he stands there watching me with a cold stare, like don’t do it. Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70238898 We love her and she is the sweetest thing with tons of personality. We NEVER EVER EVER treat her like she isn't a bomb ready to explode. She has never bitten, never attacked, and when accidently causes any pain or injury during play shows genuine guilt and remorse. We still never ever ever treat her like she wouldn't flip her shit and turn into a murder monster. Never let our guard down. Never off leash in public. Never brought close to people or other dogs without focused attention on behavior and reaction. She's not a toy and she's not a teddy bear (well she is, but just for us). She is a beast built for killing and she is treated as such. Sorry, but I don't want the safety of my family dependent on you not making a mistake "never letting your guard down." I might allow that with other breeds, but pitbulls are lethal. They should all be put down. |

Even with this large number of states banning this breed - Pitbulls are by far the breed doing the most killings and maulings of people and other animals. This isn't just an "owner" issue - this breed is messed up. They are banned in many countries. Yet the US continues to allow this to happen - this breed needs to be banned in all 50 states. Sunday |

I've personally had far worse and far more experiences with German Shepards..those are some sketch dogs. Blue healers? Dang let's not go there. Labs...those ones are 50/50 on temperament but if you've ever been around a mean one they can rival the Germans. Yorkie? Lmao I know more people afraid of Yorkies like they are snakes..and for good reason as plenty of times they've been cataloged taking down dogs 10 times their size like a lab. I've seen it. They aren't called ankle biters for no reason. I dont know what happens in alot of these cases. However I do believe that much of it has to do with how they are handled or not handled. As in..its the people more often than not. Perhaps we should ban people? I wonder if dogs ever have those thoughts. Lol Statistics: 65% of fatal dog attacks are pitbulls. 2nd place goes to rottweilers at a distant 10%. Still doesn't take back the fingers being pointed at the humans and how they handled the situations. Guns don't kill people..people kill people. That works for many things..even dogs. People suck. Terrible analogy. Guns and pitbulls are two completely different things. A gun will never decide to fire itself. It's inanimate. It can only injure if a human actively decides to use it. A pitbull is animate. It will sometimes just go insane, even if the owner is a good owner. |

She’s never been aggressive in any way. Your daughter plays Russian Roulette with her life every day and doesn't even know it. How many times have we seen an article that ends with a baby being mauled by a pitbull where the owners are quoted as saying, "He was always such a sweet dog. We can't, for the life of us, figure out what happened. He just snapped." Yeah, most of them will never kill a baby. Is it really worth the risk, though? There are lots of other breeds that never kill people and make great pets. As has been mentioned before, the shelters are full to the brim with used pitbulls. Why, do you suppose, that might be? Isn't it shitzus that have the record for most babies killed? Most animals have the ability to fuck you up it's about the person's ability to interact with the animals and the animals background not breed. Case and point my jersey/Holstein bull I have walking free around my pastures I interact with him on a daily basis the worst thing he does is rub his head on you and as he is 1700+ lbs he tends the knock people over. Point is raise your animals right or don't have them. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84305741 Which is exactly what they want imho No doubt. Most people who own them live in dangerous neighborhoods and they want a big scary dog to protect them from their neighbors. It works. Those dogs will absolutely destroy a home invader. The problem is they also have to live with the animal all the time, and you never know when your pet is going to eat your toddler's face. "Chihuahuas bite more people than pit bulls!" "My little pitty is the most gentle soul I've ever known!" "Racists!" Agree. It is the environment and nurturing the animal receives. The dogs may have felt neglected. I got a dog once off someone. They had too young kids plus having to work. They felt the dog wasn't getting sufficient attention with them but wanted to find a good owner. They said it was something about our Aura that prompted them to give us. Have to agree, the dog is so happy and loving. But must admit, I am grateful to them for making that choice, it was not easy. |
