I, too, have lived in both Democrat- and Republican-controlled areas, and it's no contest. When I lived near the hood, I couldn't sleep next to a window for fear of stray bullets, I got carjacked, had my car broken into twice, and had to chase off a burglar with a shotgun. In my time in the suburbs, I have been the victim of crime exactly zero times.

I'm youngish and involved in the music scene so around a lot of BLM types typically. So far I haven't heard of any 'demonstrations' planned in Charlotte. Last summer was insane when it popped off and I was basically in a war zone trying to dissuade people from looting and destroying the city.

"Elizabeth City, N.C. — A Superior Court judge ruled Wednesday that the family of an Elizabeth City man killed last week by Pasquotank County deputies can view video of the incident recorded on the deputies' body-worn cameras, but public release of the videos needs to be delayed to allow the investigation of the shooting to be completed.

Judge Jeffrey Foster said he would give the State Bureau of Investigation and the Pasquotank County Sheriff's Office 30 to 45 days to finish the investigation before allowing the video to be released."
