They really should not redact the footage for the family. Obviously they don't have to (or should) show this to the public, but redacting it does make it sound like they're hiding something.

He was shot in the back so my guess is he was fleeing them serving warrants. I think we've reached an unfortunate point where this is feeding on itself - black people get shot so more of them are probably going to run if they see the cops, assuming they will be shot. It's become a cycle.
