So many times I see these videos and the first words out of the person's mouth is "Man, I ain't do nuthin."

To a cop that translate. Yeah, this dude is doing something.

Keep your mouth shut and be polite. Only answer questions relating to your identity. Never answer anything else, period.

If they ask if you know why they pulled you over say. No.

If they say "Did you know that was a crime?" Don't say anything and request your paperwork. Politely thank them and be about your way.

Just know that police will only ever escalate a situation. They are not trained to deescalate without using physical restraint.

If you are arrested do not fight them. They will tack a boatload of shit onto your charges. It doesn't do you any favors but it makes them look like victims to the court.

Do not speak with any LEO without a lawyer present.

If you stand your ground and refuse to answer questions thees is a good chance you will be shot dead. They will jack you up and get the pretext, like they did that kid with the high beam lights. What some of you dont seem to get is that law enforcement is highly attractive to psychopaths.

I've been stopped by police at least 30 times in my life. Never once been arrested. Many tickets. I had shit on me that they could have arrested me for. They didn't even search my vehicle because I didn't give them a reason too.

Act like a criminal and they will treat you as such.

Sure I have been lucky but it also takes a bit of civility.

He told me the quickest way to get pulled over is drive exactly the speed limit, and to be very careful not to violate any traffic law. They are TRAINED to see this is suspicious behavior. He also said the quickest way to get your car searched is to act like you respect the cop, to give him platitudes.


If you drive a little over the speed limit and they DO pull you over and you say "what the fuck do you want?"; something registers in their tiny brains that "This is not the droid we are looking for". It has always worked for me to act pissed off at the cop for stopping me. I've said all sort of shit to them, like don't you have anything better to do, or you were going faster than I was asshole...

Act nervous, apologetic or respectful and you'll get jacked up.

Or I just keep my stupidity to a bare minimum. I don't draw attention to myself, don't drive a flashy car or flaunt vehicle licensing laws or equipment laws. If I speed, Its less than 10 over and never in heavily policed area. If stopped, I pull over.I follow basic instructions and don't argue. Do any of those things matter more than random chance? 35 years of driving tells me yes.

I used to be like that. Now, I just hand them my license and insurance.

I never let them power trip on me because I control the situation by being calm, yet superior. I can anticipate their bullshit.

Like a previous poster said, answer no questions and do not engage with them. Let them know they are dealing with an intelligent person who will not give them the time of day, it fucks with their ego.

The fact that he has a warrant out on him does not justify the use of deadly force, or even a pretext for it.

In that situation I would probably let them unlock the door and I would step out. It's good that he didn't move his hands to unlock it himself- but they are never going to let him just sit there and never let him go at at that point. I would be terrified- probably freeze in fright, puke and piss myself, lol. A no win situation at that point, just hope you don't die.

VERY good advice! They warn folks that anything they say CAN and WILL be used against them in the court of law. Also, we don't know what kind of tense crap an officer may have put up with before he got to you. So, it is wise to help you and the officer by being as calm as possible, answer the proper questions, and help put him more at ease. You surely don't want to present another tense situation that would put him (or any other human for that matter) on guard unnecessarily.

If they ask me where i am coming from or have I had anything to drink, or any other bullshit I always tell them "my lawyer told me I should never talk to police under any circumstances. Can I call my lawyer now?"

That usually spooks them, especially if you really have your lawyer on speed dial like I do. They realize their actions at that point are all possibly career altering mistakes.

The ONLY thing you should ever say to any cop is to repeatedly ask "am I free to go"

If they refuse, that is an investigative detainment without probable cause , and if it is not justified it will get anything thrown out past that point, including resisting arrest or assaulting a police officer, the two go tos. A op has just long enough to write a ticket in a traffic stop to let you be on your way, he cannot hold you for longer than that without probable cause.

Ive seen cops beat people senseless and charge them with assaulting a police officer when they didn't even touch the cop, unless you count their face hitting the cops fist.

But then again I have nothing to hide to make me run or cause me to flip out on a cop.
