Have you been following the genome sequencing?

[link to www.statnews.com (secure)]

a pre print by the wuhan institute of virology.

[link to www.biorxiv.org (secure)]

the first complete genome released.

I'm reading there has already been 24 others done as well. Nothing pointing to mutations yet.

Personally I think nature can do things on it's own, and the genome points to a single animal to human transmission.

What are your thoughts on this being purposely released?

Question #1

What do you know about the well known and respected chineese research scientist and her partner that were involved in a federal investigation along with her team of chineese students. Why did they take her computer, why was she and her team removed from the lab, what was she charged with, and what was the breach of sensitive information? Was she involved in the exportation of microbes to China and they simply caught her, or was she providing information to them? Or is a she a good guy who somehow got tied up in a conflict of interest to do with the vaccines and they had to silence her because they know she knows her stuff better than anyone. I'm not posting her name because this situation could be unrelated, and/or she could be the good guy trying to save the world as china and/or usa practises big Pharma antics and world depopulation. if you don't know the story, go read it and get back to me. This happened in Canada about 6 months ago. She is very well known internationally. I find it hard to believe she would sell out and I'm inclined to think something else went on, but I haven't a clue what it could be.

Question #2

Do you believe that this virus escaped from the biohazard lab in wuhan and that it is actually a genetically engineered product of a combination of genes from various coronaviruses which they were using I'n an attempt to create a targeted vaccine.

If this new flu doesn't kill people but accompanying pneumonia does, why don't we all just get the pneumonia vaccination?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78310900

pneumonia is basically a symptom not a disease, like how meningitis is inflamation of the meninges, there are bacterial and viral caustive agents of pneumonia, but any respiratory infection that affects lung function could lead to pneumonia, if its a secondary infection cause by a bacterial infection for example then yes antibiotics could help.

would a viral pneumonia vaccine help against corona virus caused pneumonia, no i dont think so. i could be wrong though im not a doctor, an immunologist or a virologist.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78344784

There are two shots - normally taken a year apart and they protect against different bacteria which commonly cause pneumonia infections. PCV13 helps protect people from 13 of the most severe types of bacteria that cause pneumonia.
PPSV23 protects against an additional 23 types of pneumonia bacteria. Neither can prevent every type of pneumonia, but they work against more than 30 common, severe types. One can only assume that the infections spawned off the corona virus likely would be included in these shots. But I haven't been able to find anything about it when I Google. I mean, you would still get the virus, but it is the pneumonia which is actually killing people. Get rid of the pneumonia and definitely up your chance of survival.

It is not an obligation to publish the sequence before patenting in the biology community.

Re: I'm a microbiologist, (bacteriology) ask me whatever you want.
Same for me in Melbourne,Oz. Cleared up on Christmas day thankfully. Could have been from mingling with other shoppers at the busiest time of my year.

Jumping onboard to follow.

Just before and after Christmas, here in central Alabama, people in my family were experiencing what seems to have been the flu. While at a family gathering at my niece's on the 23rd, without any warning such as abdominal pain, I suddenly found myself with 'the runs', hardly making it to the restroom a number of times that afternoon. I didn't eat anything while there, so never attributed this problem with the gathering itself. Meanwhile, an elderly Aunt and Uncle living about 40 miles away cancelled Christmas with us DUE to a gastric illness similar to what I experienced.

It took a few days to clear, though still not completely, which, until now, just seemed unusual to me. I have developed mild to moderately severe feelings of nausea at times, a bit of cramping in various places in my torso (currently near my kidneys, while last week in front near my spleen) along with very mild cold symptoms on and off ever since. I'm pretty much never ill, eat an almost 100% organic diet, live alone, and rarely go out...so whatever my immune system continues to battle has been a curious mystery.

About a week after Christmas, my niece developed high fever and a massive kidney infection, while her two young children, whose cold symptoms have seemed to continue in an on and off fashion ever since the holidays ended, have both needed Urgent Care at separate points by mid January. One child was diagnosed within the past week with croup...of all things.

One month has passed since the gathering, also attended by her brother and his family, who drove up from Naples, Florida. The three of them are currently sick with massive flu-like symptoms, his wife bed-ridden the last two days with high-fever, with my nephew having sought ER care yesterday for high fever and flu-like symptoms.

______

I'm only adding all of this because all these events within one family seems a bit more than odd.

Most of us have shopped at big box stores during and after the holiday season. There's an increasing amount of foodstuffs from China on the shelves, while Orientals with masks on their faces roam the same aisles we have.

All this said...

is three ANY possibility that this virus has already been lurking among us for at least a month, with us getting infected slowly enough over time to somehow act upon our immune systems in a mild, yet recurring, fashion?

I know I'm grasping at straws here, but it seems to me that there may be patterns at work here which might easily be overlooked, yet, significant. Just thought I'd add the strangeness my family continues to be experiencing, though miles apart,

What's the chance this IS a virus that specifically targets immune systems, which then leaves it up to the body to figure out how to deal with it according to the health status of each individual as the vector seeks out places to hide or grow?

Apologies for my babbling on so. 1dunno1

 Quoting: Tangy

sorry.. make that 96%

Unfortunately, genetic analysis can’t identify what animal species the coronavirus jumped from into humans. But an analysis by a team from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, posted to the preprint server bioRxiv, determined that the genome of this coronavirus (the seventh known to infect humans) is 96% identical to that of a bat coronavirus, suggesting that species is the original source. (Writing in the New England Journal of Medicine on Friday, another team of scientists in China reported that the new coronavirus is 86.9% identical to the bat SARS-like coronavirus.)

[link to www.statnews.com (secure)]

The genome sequences suggest that was a one-time-only jump. “The genomes [from the 24 samples] are very uniform,” Andersen said. “If there had been multiple introductions,” including from many different animals, “there would be more genomic diversity. This was a single introduction.”

That means that what’s sustaining the spread is human-to-human transmission (suggesting that closing Wuhan’s animal market is very much an after-the-horse-has-fled-the-barn reaction).

bacteria.

read more though, it was just a google answer from me.

It appears, then, that in addition to pharyngeal carriage, other, still-unidentified cofactors, perhaps seasonal viral respiratory infections, are important in the pathogenesis of invasive disease.

If this new flu doesn't kill people but accompanying pneumonia does, why don't we all just get the pneumonia vaccination?

pneumonia is basically a symptom not a disease, like how meningitis is inflamation of the meninges, there are bacterial and viral caustive agents of pneumonia, but any respiratory infection that affects lung function could lead to pneumonia, if its a secondary infection cause by a bacterial infection for example then yes antibiotics could help.

would a viral pneumonia vaccine help against corona virus caused pneumonia, no i dont think so. i could be wrong though im not a doctor, an immunologist or a virologist.

Or maybe be lucky. (Bad Luck)

Never have pneumonia- ever-
Get the Pneumonia vaccine shot.
Be dead 3 weeks later from Pneumonia.

Ask beeches. It happened to her mother.
She's mentioned it several times on GLP.
