My prayers are with you. Both my parents were in Hospice care and both had a peaceful transition. In the months and weeks and days before each died, we would indulge our favorite foods, watch old movies on tv, listen to music, and in my dad's case used marijuana to help his appetite as well as helped his anxiety. They each died surrounded by friends and family. We all talked about their wishes for a funeral and whether to have burial or cremation. We tried to tell one another how we felt and that it was ok to show emotion. My mom chose to go about her daily routine, including visiting the beauty shop, until 3 days before her death. We also told each parent that we children would be ok and if they wanted to leave their body they should feel no guilt about transitioning. I believe that witnessing both parents' death changed me as a person and changed me forever for the better. I became more spiritual and this would have pleased my mother. Indulge yourself, forgive yourself, share your fears as well as your hopes, and center yourself in love and peace. Use candles, incense, and music.

I lost my wonderful husband of almost 22 yrs just over 2 yrs ago. His hospice team was an amazing group of folks that made his transition very peaceful and comforting for him and his family.
