I am requesting prayers please so I can remain strong for my family and others I am close to. If anyone can give a bit of emotional support please, it is always very welcome as well. If anyone would like, I can write about life with hospice as well, in this thread. Also, one amazing wonderful friend here on GLP has been by my side on this journey for a while now. Much love and many hugs to that friend. Thank you! (You know who you are) ~monkeyflower I don't know you at all but, I can feel your love seeping through the walls of my house. UPDATE: Our Beloved Monkey Flower Has Passed - 7 April 2020 - ljs Hello again friends I just wrote and lost a very long lost in reply to the mind blowing, loving, awesome support, prayers, songs, poems, well wishes and love I am receiving here at GLP. I do not have the energy to write another long post tonight. The post was detailed about meeting my nurse who will be my nurse throughout this journey. I also wrote about my social worker who will provide emotional support and help me the up loose ends and plan my funeral/memorial service (or in my case a big picnic!) We also talked about respite so my husband can get out more often. If he will go do things I mean. He is reluctant to leave the house lately. I wrote about my CNA who helps me with hygiene issues and will teach my husband, granddaughter and daughter in law how to do things without hurting me. I wrote about the 'spiritual coordinator' whom I met today. I have other team members from hospice as well. I also wrote about my family and friends. Why I want to write about my hospice adventure here. I will write about these things later/tomorrow in more detail. I want to thank every single person who reached out to m when I made my request. You guys made me cry. I cried good, happy, emotionally at peace tears to know so many people took the time to reply in such kind, thoughtful and loving ways. I appreciate every single one of you. I will try to write in this thread once (or more) a day. I wish I could have the energy to reply to every post. God bless all of you. And BESTEST wishes, because you are the bestest people! Thank you my wonderful GLP family. . |

UPDATE: Our Beloved Monkey Flower Has Passed - 7 April 2020 - ljs Hi there, OP. I'm so sorry you're going through this. There is never a good time for saying goodbye, but I'm glad you're here for now and taking the time to talk to us about it. I will follow your thread and pray for you and your family often. I wish you the most peaceful of send-offs. I also want to say that while it is helpful to share your thoughts and feelings with us, I don't want you to ever feel obligated to spend too much energy posting replies to everyone or to every post. Don't ever feel guilty for being too tired to respond. Just hop in whenever you feel like it and say whatever you want to whomever you wish, and know that we all understand if there are time gaps or unanswered questions. We just want to be here with you during this transitional period and spend what time we can with you, free of expectations. Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. Goodbye, halcyon days... There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

I wish you a peaceful transition, as I would hope for myself and everyone else.... Your strength and peace at this time are apparent... as is your acceptance.. UPDATE: Our Beloved Monkey Flower Has Passed - 7 April 2020 - ljs by John Donne Next No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee. In a rush we forget who we are, God knows us from near and far. We are all part of the human race, A drift in the vastness of outer space. When your time comes if you have known love, you will leave this World on the wings of a dove. You will travel to a place we all must go, and experience the end of times ebb and flow. You will be missed by someone, somewhere, As long as you have shown you care. Do not go fearfully into our last voyage, For your life is not an end, for in that moment it will begin again. ARB Safe travels and love from my family. |
