Because I thought of you today and all of your stories about Kountess Kitty and smiled.

Miss those stories.

Rest in peace, the battle is over but you won the war! My heart and prayers go out to the family. It never easy no matter how much time we have to prepare. A special prayer for MonkeyFlowers caregivers, I know it was tough.

I lost my beloved wife on March 15th after a battle with cancer and she was also under hospice care.

I wonder what Monkey Flower is doing in heaven right now?

My beautiful Flower probably is singing and dancing with angels.

Mothers day is especially hard. As I expected. She has 2 new grandchildren both born on the same day exactly 1 month after she passed. We will do our best to tell them stories and show them pictures. Most of all instill some of her world view into them through us. She is deeply missed by my brothers and I. She is not physically here for mothers day for the first time in our lives. But her spirit is strong and she is thought of fondly and often.

Call your moms! Hug them extra today if you have the opportunity. 😊

Your beautiful mother is a beautiful angel now and she’s watching over all of you, her precious children and adorable grandchildren!

You are all in our prayers. Your mother was very special to us, and I hope this brings you comfort to know that she was loved and cherished by many people in countries all over the globe. She was very much a treasure.

I am sorry I missed this post. But I totally can relate to what you are saying. All those first special days are so extremely hard, birthday, Mother's Day, Christmas and for you and your family the birth of the two new grandchildren. How you wished she was still with you, it hits you hard especially on those moments and days.

I remember how difficult those days were from my mom's passing, 4 years ago now on the 19th of May. Her birthday was June 10. What gave and still gives us comfort is the positivism she had in her till the last moment. Her optimistic spirit, the beautiful memories, the silliness, the laughter over things that happened. And the fact that she wanted us to remember her by the good life she gave us and be proud when we talk and think about her and have her spirit run through us in our lives.

My mom was the best, an absolute angel. And so was your mom to you and all who had the privilege to have met her. Her view on the world like you said. Such energy, such activism to do good and fight injustice in this world. The most beautiful spirit. And that spirit will never leave you. Through that spirit we live on and hope we do her proud.

And I am sure the same goes for most who lost a parent or both of them. So yes, if you still can, make sure you let them know how much you love them and never take what they gave you for granted. Be thankful, always.

I wish you strength and comfort on days like these, in the knowledge of what a special soul your mom Gayle was, especially to you and your family, but also so many around her.
