I am in hospital. Hospitals are bad now…. Poor quality healthcare. Stay TF away.

My boyfriend had a heart attack last month, already had stents, but he had almost total blockage anyway. He had a triple bypass and was in for two weeks. They are calling him twice a week to follow up. Very good care. And get this. He's self employed and uninsured and they cut his bill 90% through some special program. He had 13 prescriptions and they were only 100 dollars. I was very impressed and shocked by the whole thing. You can't even get food stamps in TN if you don't have children and forget medicaid but private donors and churches and foundations really do help people here. Go figure.

She said she never heard of them scanning the bed unless you either don't have a bracelet or beside the bracelet they also have a thing linking to your bracelet at the end of the bed

The nurses sitting out at the nurses station could be either doing reports, dealing with another patient they may be getting ready to go to the patients room

It could also be CNA whp are lazy as fuck

Nurses have to deal with multiple patients not just you

If you are calling them often and you are not a patient with a major emergency then yeah they may be like him again?

They let it go to the operator so she or he can message a CNA to come and deal with your issues and if Then it requires a nurse the CNA will let the nurse know

Nurses have to make sure patients don't die get the right meds, deal with patiens pain management all night, make sure the patient doesn't die, deal with breth8ng issues in patients, depa with all kinds if things

You only see that they aren't at you becking call, it's not a hotel

Nurses are your life line, they do more then the doctors do, if it wasn't for nurses you would be fucked

The doctor put an order for meds and the nurses is the last link before you get that meds so if a mistake has been made on the docs part the nurse will hopefully catch it before Givin to patient

So you may not understand why you think they are sitting around chatting and not running to you everytime you want a drink or whatever, but you don't know what else they have to do, maybe they on a shift change, maybe charting, maybe those are cna, maybe they tires of you calling out every few min.

Yes patients get annoying and if they know it's not a real emergency because maybe you have called them a 100 times already they aren't going to be in a rush

Try to understand they have more patients and worries theb just you, your bot the only patient on that floor

Nurses aren't there to be your friend or show you personal attention constantly

I see ANY bs and I get hospital administration involved immediately.

Nursing used to be a noble profession filled with amazing angels. I am from Huntsville TX, I've been in that hospital a times, as well as multiple family members. YOU ARE FULL OF SHIT OP!!! That happens to be one of the absolute best hospitals in the fuckin area! BUT, we also, all have GREAT insurance. I'm sure that has a little to do with it!!

Oh please. My best friend is a nurse. She’s had maybe a few perverts in several years, that comes with ANY job. I asked her if she liked her job she said generally yes she does. I’m sick of the whole nurses are saints crap, anyone whose been to the ER can here how much fun they have laughing it up together so spare me, they make a lot of money and only have to go to school for for two years. They aren’t saints, give me a break!

Management can stretch one lone nurse between 10 critical, needy patients. She is drowning and overloaded and running, but to each individual patient she is "doing nothing" because she won't get her other patients killed to provide constant one to one attention.

They all think they have their own personal gang of nurses just to hang out outside their room in case they "need anything". Even when they are told that they are sharing one nurse with 10 people they don't understand what that means. 10 people sharing one nurse thinking that what is going through their heads that they are focused on is what the nurse should be doing right now. These patients fucking get each other killed. But they have no understanding of what a nurse is at any level in order to be able to understand how they can kill another patient by acting and thinking the way they do.

If they see lab techs, transporters, social workers, orderlies gathered at the nurse's station hanging out they view that as some kind of indication of how busy "the nurses" are. Lots of selfishness and ignorance.

2 years? Not for a RN not even the Associates degree RNs- the CLINICAL portion is two years but there’s a hella lot of pre-reqs to get to that point

Yes, you cannot be a nurse without 4 years of intensive schooling which is more difficult than a regular 4 year degree. It's been impossible to become a nurse in two years with no prior college degree since the 1970s. Healthcare is too complicated for that now.

If the people who run the healthcare system depict nurses as assistive personnel, customer service providers; and promote the impression that wards are staffed safely and that nurses run in herds.......it allows them to short staff the units dangerously and sit back while the public lash out and abuse the overstretched and under-resourced nurse. The people who run the healthcare system make a lot of money pulling this crap and it gets fueled off of a low IQ public who are infested and deranged with mainstream media and TV depictions of nursing.
