It's bad, real bad up here too.

The medical community are societies biggest traitors right now and that is saying a lot with the corporate media around.

They certainly are. They will kill you without batting an eye. Ok not all but you never know what psychos you will come up against. Pray before going anywhere medical. They proved how awful they are by firing good people who wouldn’t take the clot shots after working around covid for two years and actually having it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79543875

Honestly, it's all so much worse after covid. Emergency rooms here are a nightmare too. They refuse people with serious conditions now.

The hospitals in Vegas were a nightmare so I moved to Florida thinking it would be better but 2 doctors have told me its bad here too. The reason is, there are to many people and not enough medical staff. So many people moved down to Florida and the medical facilities cant handle all of the patients.

I am in a decent facility too…. Herman memorial in The Woodlands, Texas.

I have had three meals in 72 hours. Food is good… just can’t get any.

Hey are clueless. Can’t make any progress. Can’t get any information on test results. They are drawing blood and doing all this crap… well, what are the results.

I told them to discharge me…. Doctor came in and said he would not, I would have to leave on my own against medical advice. Big argument. My brother is a doctor in Florida - he called in and made some progress so I am going to stay here for now.

At. Johns in Santa Monica turned to shit too. Was great in 2017. When my wife gave birth in 2021 (many nurses quit when ordered not to wear masks at beginning of pandemic), much went awry. The nurses are my wife’s breakfast (she couldn’t eat it, but I was going to so I didn’t have to leave her- I reported the dumb twats), her epidural ran out and couldn’t be replaced for several hours while we waited for an anesthesiologist, the shower head was broken, my wife was left in the toilet after delivery (id left briefly to install the car seat as the birth was early), the African janitor lady came in and loudly took out a tiny amuu oh my og garbage while we were meeting with our pediatrician, a nurse tried to snatch our child in the middle of the night to give her formula (I stood up from sleep, panties, and told her, “im a lawyer, put down my child or else”), she then melodramatically told us we were starving our child (just no). When we were discharged (the pediatrician told us to get out as soon as possible, our OB agreed), they had the nerve to come in all solicitous and ask why we were leaving. The kicker was receiving a $20,000 bill from an out of network OB they roped into the C section room (we refused to pay and it went away). Screw “American” hospitals. Oh yeah, the nurses were also chitchatting about their weekend plans while cutting into my wife. She still has issues from the pure dystopian aspect

I will only go to a hospital if I am literally dying and have no other choice.

Otherwise I will avoid like the plague.

I am staying away, because health care in the US is for rich people. I can't afford insurance or doctor appointment, like most of US citizens. We are slaves and have no right to stay alive. Avoid hospitals because you are going to have to sell your kidney or home to get good health care.

If your bed control/tv control is separate from the bed- ask for a clear bag or a lab bag to put it in— they are never really really cleaned good. Get out of there as fast as you can- wipe the bottom of your shoes with bleach wipe when you get home- those C-Diff spores are nasty. Hope that you feel better.

Memorial Herman is a top of the line hospital. I really like the one on Gessner and I10. Speaking from experience, Methodist is the worst. My insurance company dropped them. You will encounter crappy nurses anywhere you go. I think i read that they kill many thousands of patients every year.

I doubt this to be at all true, and IF it is, it's because you're on a restricted diet for whatever reasoning you're there.

Nurses take forever to address issues. My IV has beeped with errors for an hour. Nurses are 20 feet away and just chatting nonsense. I press the button and they don’t even answer… let it roll over to main operator who has to page. They still ignore.
Possible, I'd guess by this post you're the type that's on that beeper every 30 minutes for something, complaints probably or wanting something.

Sunday thru today… four days. Every day a different hospital doctor. The doctors are in the room for a few minutes at most…. One for less than 30 seconds. I don’t get the same answer twice, ever…. Hey are clueless. Can’t make any progress. Can’t get any information on test results. They are drawing blood and doing all this crap… well, what are the results.
In house doctors suck for face time. Normally it's very short because there are many others they have to see too and usually, a few far worse condition than you're in.

I told them to discharge me…. Doctor came in and said he would not, I would have to leave on my own against medical advice. Big argument. My brother is a doctor in Florida - he called in and made some progress so I am going to stay here for now.
Ah, higher expectations of being spoiled I see.

They come in three times to scan bed…. So worried about it being stolen. They scan the IV machine three days in a row too… so worried about that. But the bed sheets never changed. The towel in the bathroom has been wet and on the floor three days… they don’t care about that.
They scan the machines to make sure no one has switched them and making sure you're on the correct meds.

And I have not had an American born nurse yet. One American born floor assistant. One just off the boat from Haiti barely speaks English.
There's a nursing shortage and will be for another predicted 20 years. According to your prior comment, you havent seen many as they ignore you.

Damn bro.

I feel you.

Leave Texas and come to rural FL. The hospital near me is very white and very, good.

Obviously still don't want to be in one, but if you have to this one near me is good.

They installed my mesh for my double inguinal hernia back in 2020 and they let me refuse my PCR test swab and let me use a cotton swab from my home and barely put it in my nose.

I'm sending you some good heal quickly vibes and keep us informed.

Thats why I always laugh at all those hospital and ER shows on TV that show doctors and nurses rushing around.

Its never like that.

I remember 20 years ago I went to the ER (broke my ankle).

The waiting area was packed full. Several people had serious injuries. I'll never forget the one guy, probably in his early 20's, was brought in, he had a workplace accident. Some industrial acid sprayed his face. His eye was so fucked and he was in agony. The acid was literally eating his skin while he was sitting in the waiting room.

They made him sit and wait in the waiting area.

We sat there for hours.

In the meantime I saw doctors and nurses standing around, chatting, making jokes. Literally sat there and watched two doctors stand at the nearby desk talk about their weekend golfing plans. They just stood there talking about golf for an hour .... then WALKED AWAY. Meanwhile the ER waiting area was packed with people, some with shit that needed immediate attention. No one cared. Not a single doctor or nurse gave a fuck.

Thats when I realized hospitals, doctors, nurses, are all bullshit and you cannot rely on them or trust them.

Just like they won’t discharge you, they won’t discharge a child. And by law you can’t check out a child against medical advice. So they medically kidnap your kids.

Keep yourself and your kids far away from hospitals or they’ll kidnap you.

They kept my son 4 days in the hospital for no reason, just because I gave birth on the way there. They wouldn’t let him leave, they wouldn’t let me take him against medical advice. They wouldn’t let him transfer hospitals because there was no medical reason - because he had no medical diagnosis in the first place. Then they told me I had to leave because of the no visitor policy during the Pandemic.

Hospitals are filled with 99% clot shot shedding staff.

Society worships nurses and they literally get paid $30-60 an hour to stand around in the hallway chatting with each other. Why the glorification? I don’t get it, every time I’ve been in the ER I’ve been largely ignored, I almost would rather die at this point than go back to the ER. Good luck getting a cup of water while the nurses are laughing amongst themselves. Yeah such an honorable job. Worst thing they do is deal with bed wounds and they get paid handsomely for it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82212880

There are no " the nurses". You are sharing one RN with 10 other patients and she is run off her feet with stuff you don't understand.

The staff you see hanging around in the hallway are not nurses, they are minimum wage workers who have no health care training and cannot help with anything. They certainly are not going to get pressed into being assistant nurses nor try to help. No way. They don't care if your nurse is drowning and so overloaded with critical stuff that she cannot push past it to deal with your bullshit.

Unfortunately, the criminals in hospital management have been able to get away with slashing nurse numbers and throwing untrained, non-nursing minimum wage workers on the wards instead of nurses. They get away with it (and kill patients doing it) because you stupid fucks cannot tell the difference between a nurse and an orderly.

It's amazing how patients and visitors will observe untrained non-nursing staff in the area and think what those people are doing is somehow indicative of how busy the nurse is.

The minute I hear someone say "the nurses" I already know I am listening to a dipshit who 1) doesn't understand that they are sharing one nurse with 10 people and 2) uses the word 'nurse' to describe any staff member they see from an orderly to a lab tech. I also realize that I am talking to a dipshit that doesn't understand acuity. You are sharing your nurse with acutely ill complex people and all of your probably need your own one to one RN to get what you need when you need it and be safe.

Four patients per nurse is dangerous and impossible. When administrators cut down the allowed nurse numbers to make it 10 patients per nurse they did it on the orders of the CMS to save money and cause harm.

Because they were knowledgeable and experienced they knew not to take the mandated you-know-what. I took a part time job at a hospital years ago in LA. I went into intensive care to deliver something to the nurses and there were none around, just Ernie the maintenance man.
I asked them where they were and what he was doing there. He said they all went on break and told him to watch the patient.

Seriously…. If I had known I would have just killed myself instead of go through this crap.

And I have not had an American born nurse yet. One American born floor assistant. One just off the boat from Haiti barely speaks English.

This place is a joke.

I am in a decent facility too…. Herman memorial in The Woodlands, Texas.

I have had three meals in 72 hours. Food is good… just can’t get any.

Nurses take forever to address issues. My IV has beeped with errors for an hour. Nurses are 20 feet away and just chatting nonsense. I press the button and they don’t even answer… let it roll over to main operator who has to page. They still ignore.

My hospital in New England is amazing. Zero wait in the ER and the doctor and nurses are freindly and caring. You order your own food from the relatively decent hospital cafeteria so its just like room service in a hotel. Grilled salmon salad, chocolate mousse, etc... lucky to have a great hospital near me.

Where in New England?

I was in Baystate in Springfield for 10 days in January. It was one of Dante's levels of hell.

They never cleaned the bathroom the entire time I was there. They never cleaned the room. I felt like I was in a sewer. The whole time I was there I realized that this is a big indicator of the downfall of our civilization. It was like being in a third world hospital.

I was there because I had no choice. I would not go in for any elective surgery. They are tying to get rid of all of us.
No good deed goes unpunished.

Definitely better at home.

I had a pneumonia recently and got treated without a hospital and the problem was solved thanks to a Pneumotologist

Thanks to God too.

Because most of them are useful idiots and do the bidding of the control freak, big pharm-indoctrinated doctors. They're lionized until they dare exercise a critical thought. then they are demonized, thrown away, and ghosted by the system.

Just like the gov does to our vets.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77479307

All true. They’ve been running nurses like a 3rd world shit hole for decades. You wouldn’t believe how nurses and therefore patients are treated in america.
 Quoting: SafeandSound

Yes I do. It's more abusive to be a nurse than to be a patient. I have done enough of both. So many patients are getting killed by other patients causing medical errors. When they don't get whatever it is they are fixated on when they want it the first thing they do think that the nurse is ignoring them (especially if they are seeing non-nursing staff hanging around) . With that they end up distracting their nurse away from cardizem and insulin drips and causing fatal errors.

The other shitty thing is the computer system that the government mandated. The nurse has no way of getting a hold of your (or the other 9 patients she is responsible for) medications or anything else without doing hours of computer shit. It could take her 45 minutes of abandoning her respiratory distress patient just to get her hands on the pain meds you are demanding so that she can give them to you. To the pain patient, this translates as " the nurse is making me wait".

And even when management has cut the staffing levels so low that 10 patients are sharing one nurse who has no help these fucking people are like "the nurses, the nurses, the nurses". They literally think that there are herds of nurses around who can just give them undivided attention and instantly produce anything they want.

What condition are your teeth in? Have you had regular cleanings and checkups?

People who neglect their teeth have a much higher rate of illness than those who keep them cleaned properly.

It's shocking how many doctors and Hospitals still take no notice of dental infections or poor hygiene and don't order a cleaning of the teeth. It's just more disconnect from whats actually making people sick.

Get your teeth cleaned and keep them cleaned and flossed while in the hospital. You should be using a water pick at home.

Any Nurse or Doctor who says there is no correlation between the state of your teeth oral health and your overall health is lying. Stop seeing them.

Yeah I wouldn't knock the hospitals that much, in my state NY, we get inundated with people who are not even sick just wasting space. That's the ER though. Ny doesn't let us deny a ambulance ride for people who call daily or people who insist just because a paper cut. It's sad
