I was really excited about the concept of growing vegetables and fish in "full system" that sustains itself and thought that "aquaponics" was the way. Not so. It is actually a nightmare in practice. It is a very brittle system with many ways to fail. You must literally "play God" 24-7, doing all the things that true "soil biology" does naturally. This guy is getting rich on a small farm using all natural "holistic" practices and using NO fertilizers and NO tilling. Farm animals create the fertilizer with manure and their hooves/feet do the tilling as it was intended by nature. |
