Do You Have to Wear a Mask at Your Workplace? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79241204 United States 10/20/2020 12:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am supposed to wear one all the time because we are in an air conditioned building, but I don't. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78123652 At first a lot of people tried to wear them even when at their desks, most don't do that anymore. There are a handful of people at work at 6, none of us wear it until 7 when others start to come in to work. 6 to 7 is the best, followed by after 4, which is when most people leave, but sometimes I have to work late. Yeah, 7:30-8:00 in the morning is my mask-free time. lol The cheap mask at Home Hardware are the best. Easy to breath through and easy to carry. Where it on your ear. What can they say. Ha ha I'll have to look. I've tried several and I don't like being in any of them all day. I've tried the blue ones, black "breathable" ones from Amazon, and then a homemade one from Etsy that I bought at the beginning of this whole thing when I couldn't find them anywhere else. They're all easy to breathe through until you have to talk in them all day. I was also given a shield...which I've never worn. Most of the time I work from home, thankfully. When I am at work I have to wear more than a mask; practically full PPE, except I wear a lab coat vs. a full suit. It's maddening. Yes, try talking all day in a mask, which is what I do. As far as the face shield. It's far better if you don't have to wear a mask too. I can't wait until they are done with this crap. Makes me want to move to an island and breath fresh air all day. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 71611133 United States 10/20/2020 12:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have to wear it entering the building, but everybody takes them off in the office. If you leave the office, then you have to wear it. IMO 'masktard' refers to people who think everybody needs to wear a mask and they freak out if they don't. I don't care if somebody doesn't wear a mask. If my mask works then why would I care? I know my mask doesn't really work and people in general have really terrible mask habits so it's really not very effective at all. It may be worse than wearing nothing. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79496395 The blind compliance of two thirds of the world with a "symbol" of oppression, and their complete willingness and unquestioning acceptance of the "authority" with the loudest voice, without ANY self-verification. I look forward to the day when I get challenged. The day the weak two thirds of the world encounter the unfaltering pillar of self-autonomy. The confrontation feels close. I'm a superintendent for a multi-state healthcare consortium, so I'm always in hospitals and always required to wear a mask when in proximity to others. If you refused to wear a mask on my projects, I'd respect your rights and your good sense, however, I'd have to send you home and you'd not be allowed back until you agreed to wear a face diaper. Their rules, not mine. I could quit my job in protest, but I'm not wealthy and so I comply or I let my family go broke. I happen to love this job, so what do you suggest? I know a crime against humanity is occurring and that my "silence is compliance" as the shrill little commie bastards like to say, but in my state, they've destroyed the economy and I seriously doubt I could land a similar position here any time soon. We are looking into other states, as I have young kids and I want them out of this commie shithole. I'll probably have to move my wife and kids to some place a little less authoritarian, and then I'll fly home to see them every couple of weeks, as that's what I think it'll take for the next couple of years. I will stand beside you when and if the time comes, but I'm not going to sacrifice my family's livelihood and potentially my life, until I can know that I'll not be standing alone. |

I work an office job so mostly homeoffice for me, which is fine since I can get smashed while at work anytime I want. My employer wouldn't make us wear a mask in the office and they know they couldn't force us. We now have a rule in place that if we want to come to the office we are basically allowed to but only 20% of all employees may be there at once in order to make sure you can still have social distancing. |

Have not worn one yet. No mandates here, and I would not anyway. I work for myself.. when I do, I am retired (retired at 39) and self employed since then. That alone shows I am a bit smarter than the average. So no, I don't and won't. The idiots that make their stupid claims of "wear it to protect others" have to be about the dumbest fuckers on earth... That is akin to me coming to your home, tearing out the window screens and replacing them with chain link fence to keep the mosquitoes in your house from going out and biting the neighbors.. STUPID. hahahaha, you forgot humble, you're clearly very humble and don't think you're better than everyone else. How does it feel to be levitating above the rest of us average minded, smooth brained people? retired at 39? Or you started working for yourself at 39? retired implies you put in your time and have a pension or something. Thats right asshole, retired at 39, WITH a pension. I now work for myself. And yes I am obviously much more intelligent than your sorry ass.. as well as much more driven. Now shut the fuck up and go back to to your moms basement, you embarrass her. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37645337 United States 10/20/2020 04:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was sent home today for refusing to wear a mask. I do commercial HVAC for a local school district and service about 30 large schools. I have a legit medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask. I had a pulmonary embolism and almost died about two years ago. As a result I have reduced lung capacity. Plus I reject the silly kindergarten propaganda flatout as nonsense and refuse to participate in the Hoax. The fat angry office lady was not wearing one when I arrived and not up over her nose later on...yet called HR on me. Not my boss, the head of HR. I knew this day was coming. The actual LAW will be tested. They will be forced to ignore standing LAW they violate with the mask business. **under OSHA definitions a piece of cloth covering the mouth and nose constitutes a mask/respirator. **even if I voluntarily wear a mask, they MUST institute a repirator program We do not have a respirator program. What authority would my employer have to require a dr note from me for the mask. The state health department guidance letter never mentions having to prove one’s health condition in regard to exemptions. Then there is this gem I stumbled on.... F the Machine! personally i dont care about the mask. i love the charade and literally wear it 5 seconds when i get coffee. we all know the mask doesnt stop you from getting it. But im pretty young and sometimes wonder if i maybe already had it like 1 or 2 times in the past year. And for that it seems okay to wear a mask so that i wouldnt spread it to my old co-workers who i like. but im one of the very least effected people when it comes to corona. like i literally miss nothing (except for festivals) but i save a lot of money. other people have really horror stories going on tho. like all schools have to keep the windows open now. when its super cold outside. but teachers will still force students to take their jackets off, resulting in confrontations etc. coworkers that have to work home for safety have kids that HAVE to go to school still and mingle with 1200 people every day. so those coworkers might as well just work at the office since they can still catch it from their kids. the kids the still go to school often dont have teachers because the teachers stay at home as soon as they caugh once. and now soon the school will close again. which will mean couples and their kids will all have to work from home. which brings big tension to them (and their wifi LOL). i can see a couple of marriages breaking after this winter. but like i said. none of those things affect me. im just watching |
