Scorpions in the Workplace when you wear Sandals

We found a 6-inch scorpion where I work. I wear sandals every day. I've done the math on this, and it doesn't bode well.

I didn't know southern California had scorpions everywhere to sting my toes. Great.

So the brainstorm solution of the masses is to spray pesticides everywhere. Great, poison the residents of the office while the pests run away and come back later. I'm the one that has to stay here in pesticide city. Who are we trying to exterminate here? Maybe the pesticide poisoning will begin to deaden my nerve endings when the scorpion stinging comes.
