They had a group of elders. There's not really much at all in the modern church that stems from the churches they were referring to in Acts. As far as I'm concerned Christ was a hippie who was completely anti religion telling everybody to forge their own narrow path. I mean Christianity is based on the concept of asking Jesus into your heart to get into heaven something Christ never said ....he said we make heaven on Earth, and asking Jesus into your heart is not biblical anywhere even Paul doesn't describe it that way. Romans 8 says that Christ writes the law in your heart so you don't have to follow the laws of religion anymore. You basically ask for his help and he gives you your own personal morality and vindication about things. the catholic church is a result of the western Roman Empire ending, Cesar became pope, senate became cardinals, etc., the real Church has nothing to do will catholics The entire Bible was pieced together by Constantine and his council. He was the 1st Pope and the modern day Protestant church is a completely an offshoot of Catholicism which he started. It amazes me you can devote your entire life to a faith and not actually research the history behind it if you are over the age of 20 |
