Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79248910 Btw, no one gets out alive. Taxes Death that’s your future. I wear protective glasses all the time, sunglasses, clear and yellow. I work at a mine, get them free! I do have good binoculars are in my camper. You still won’t survive what’s coming. No one will. It’s Biblical. But the parable said to prepare. What's wrong with giving it a go? If I end up and lay a dying I can say "oh well, I tried". I owe it to loved ones to go above the norm. |

Quoting: -Kate- https://imgur.com/a/KWd2pqL https://imgur.com/a/NXaWok2 I still have to buy a good knife. I have a hatchet. To inspire. Way to big and heavy and filled with to much nonsense. Keep it light and simple. It is missing a change of clothing and socks, bad weather Outer wear., rain Hat, etc. It might not be raining when you leave so it better be packed near the top, same with a change of clothes. If you fell into a creek or water(or your BOB does) they will be a welcome item. It should be in a dry bag, plastic bags or dry compartment, along with other things that should not get wet. Where is your rain gear, tarp, groundsheet, Etc, for camping? Looks like you have a sleeping bag, but that is it. Did I miss seeing cookware and water filter? I see what looks like freeze dried food, or MRE, but what about making hot coffee, tea, etc. if it is cold out? Beef or Chicken bouillon is a great thing to have along also. Especially if you catch a cold or sore throat after the first night out. Your "first aid kit" is a joke. Get a proper one or a trauma kit, that will attach on the outside of your Pack. Looks like you need to rethink this. Much of this stuff you only need a few of,(if any) like Q tips, not a whole box. The rest of the supply should be at the camper. Reduce and repackage most of that stuff. LISTEN TO THIS PERSON ^^^^, someone who actually knows what they are talking about. I would add, did you remember the mosquito/tick repellant? If you are in Canada as your member flag indicates, you don't want to leave without it. Also, I can't tell if you have sunscreen, you don't need sunburn on top of dealing with an apocalypse. Hopefully at your bug out location you have antibiotics of several different kinds for different types of illnesses and injuries. Easy to buy online (I got mine from AllDayChemist.com in India, no prescription needed), and print out a hard copy of the dosages for each kind you choose to buy, and what it is good for (skin issues, lung infections, ear ache, etc.) See: [link to www.healthgrades.com (secure)] You can order them online Aloe vera and activated charcoal should also be at your camper already. You need Immodium AD and Pepto Bismal lozenges for stomach issues, as it's pretty easy to get diarrhea in unfamiliar travel situations which makes it pretty hard to hike. Get a Sawyer Mini water filter, it's one of the better ones, very small, gets out 99.9999% of protozoa/cysts and 99.99999% of bacteria, costs twenty bucks. Make sure your boots are well broken in AHEAD OF TIME. Also take moleskin in your pack for blisters. [link to healthyfeet.com (secure)] You should carry a small fanny pack that has a butane lighter, waterproof matches, knife, Sawyer mini filter or a Lifestraw, emergency sleeping bag, length of paracord, a tiny flashlight, beef jerkey and power bars. If someone grabs your BOB, or you have to run for your life leaving it behind, you still have a chance to make it to your camper with the smaller bag of absolute essentials. Your pistol should be in a holster readily available. Hope you remembered a Bible somewhere in the mix. You need to watch "The Road" for the ultimate wake up call, we all need to get out of our normalcy bias. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83827794 United Kingdom 08/11/2022 02:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My bag is good but not great. Its just loads of PHD designs insulation. Synthetics though. I bought a while back but never bothered using. Plus a hilleberg tent. Its lightweight for it being synths plus an extremish shelter. Just not all the stuff you have collected. Theres some. Like a titanium stove. Its a box type grill or for alcohol or gas. A honey stove. First thing I ever bought before thinking I even buy anything for outdoors. Were a compass. I think the shop seller thought I were mentally ill. Said' Are you planning an expedition. Since then I found a mini keyring compass, you get from a Christams cracker. Just to point North etc though. Bag also not only would have a roll matt on top of bag. The lid can actually wrap over matts and tie down really secure. So mat dosent hit your bum. Its 3 roll mats though. Looking like the original hitchhiker etc. More so because of matts but they are good for winter/snow. |

MUCH better than pouches! Read the calorie content of a pouch and compare that to a 3600 calorie bar with vitamins, you will thank me :) |

It was not as large as yours. You've thought of everything! Of course, I never had to use mine. No emergencies here. I just went through the contents last week after all these years. Batteries are corroded, and the Chemlight Tactical Lights say "expired 3/14." I used the radio once....during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, when all other lines of communication weren't available. It came in handy. I was glad to have it. I sent one to my daughter in Florida thinking it might come in handy during a hurricane. Last Edited by nutmeg on 08/11/2022 02:45 PM |

All the ties have an extended wrap per tie and a velcro wrap to wrap them up. It makes the lid. Where you have yours closed. Be able to go over 3 roll mats than tighten as usual. The mats then just act as part of the lid. Not great for getting in pack. Although theres other zips I guess. But mat feels secure. I will will put some cushions in bag. Just to show becuase its just been sitting around. |

I remember our days we talked preps lots on here, I had to start over on my own. It is good if we don’t need some things we prepped, but with prices going up, it’s still smart to do because people are getting poorer, and that brings on desperation by itself, more crime.
