Bit it is a growing problem that shows no sign of improving anytime soon. Quoting: Riff-Raff Anyone who has not stockpiled a minimum 6 months of emergency supplies, including food and water, has not been paying attention for the past year. Yeah, and it's spreading... This is the new normal. It's not going to get better. It can't. Harvests were very bad this year. roguetechie |

Almost no prepackaged lunch meat either. Beef supply was OK. I didn’t explore all the aisles- was in hurry & just needed to grab a couple items… Quoting: Buckeye73 Anybody else seeing this? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49178951 Jesus. Aldi is bottom of barrel, I wouldn't walk in there or walmart if my life depended on it. Wegmans or nothing. User ID: 2023768 United States 09/15/2021 07:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went shopping in the woods today. It was fully stocked. Saw whitetail deer, snow shoe hares, grouse, turkey. The stream was full of trout, the lake had tons of crawdads. The landlocked salmon are spawning and the season opened today. I put up gallons and gallons of berries and the apple trees are loaded. I have plenty to eat for years to come and I'm just a pauper. I go to the store for amusement mostly. Candy Bar. Sumatran coffee. I don't really need anything in there. One whole wall in my house is 3 lb coffee cans to the ceiling. I should buy more tallow/lard for grinding deer meat into burger. Just about all of my meat and fish i harvest myself and all of my fruits and berries i pick myself. I make my own bread. Mill grain. Brew my own beer. Grow my own weed. I started not trusting where things were going a long time ago. I've been prepped for 20 years for the crap we are seeing now. Flathead National Forest was fully stocked today. |

User ID: 80165861 United States 09/15/2021 07:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here in Austin, TX the grocery stores are mostly ok, but I do find that some of the things that I like to buy are generally sold out. Like a few weeks in a row my favorite onion rings were out. So when I saw them this week I purchased 4 bags. And yesterday I went to buy some chips and the chips I wanted were sold out as well as a bunch of other chips. So I picked up a bag of the grocery store brand. But yes eventually this will be normal ESPECIALLY when they start pushing the COVID doom again this fall and winter. Hopefully by then I will be living on a couple of acres further out in the country with a nice air conditioned storage shed that I can use to stock up on tons of food. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80643023 [imgur] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [imgur] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] I wait until it goes on-sale for $5.99 which is still way too expensive. But I say what the heck and sometimes buy it anyway. But no way in hell I am paying more than that. I would buy it regularly if it was cheaper. Allot of times it has been way too salty lately anyway and not as good as it used to be. So here I am spending $5.99 for so salty bacon you can't even eat it. You know what. F Oscar Myer. |
