When does the folks in missipppi receive there food stamps?

The westcoast foodstamps form the 1st to the 10th an thats when the stores are low on stock but a week after that they are all full.

Right now this is happening in scattered pockets of the country - some places are being hit harder by supply chain issues than others. Bit it is a growing problem that shows no sign of improving anytime soon.

Anyone who has not stockpiled a minimum 6 months of emergency supplies, including food and water, has not been paying attention for the past year.

Grocery stores are starting to limit the hours they are open in my city...Raleigh, NC. One after the other are starting to announce it.

Was in SE PA Giant today. Noticeable shortages. Deli really short of lunch meat and cheese. Almost no storebrand. Just Boars Head brand. Light selection. Giant usually well stocked.

I was at Kroger on Monday and the produce was well stocked. Went in today, Wednesday, and produce was 90% wiped out. There was literally nothing. Lots of bare shelves throughout the store. Meat, eggs were fully stocked.

I now buy shelf stable or freezable things when I see them, even if I don't have an immediate need, because I've learned that you never know when they will be back in stock.

Here in Texas our shelves seem very well stocked, I always find everything on my list, and he non walmart stores are better stocked. The problem is at those stores prices tend to be 30 percent higher.

HOWEVER, some things are notably missing, like the better chips for instance.

No shortages of anything that I can tell up in NorCal. And I visit different grocers twice a week.

But then again, I am anti Walmart, so I don't go into those Chinese establishments.

I eat cavier and lamb but usually throw 2/3 of the meal away because by the time dinner is ready I’ve usually eaten tons of beef jerky and or root beer. That’s every other day, lunch and dinner. I’m not stopping any time soon

Re: Grocery doom incoming?
Saw similar to Op In central Mississippi outside of the capital city.

Oxford is a city that if you think rich, it should come to mind. Ole Miss is the flagship school in our state, and is home to the law and medical schools. Chances are if your family has money, or political connections, you will find the kids at this school, I say that to correct the thought that the Walmart was wiped out because of food stamp day.

Going to Walmart is an event in Oxford on some nights and if you are a college kid, you didn't go to there or the Huddle house without full make up and dressed well. It was almost a reverse of the People of Walmart threads you used to see. Not kidding when I say that dressing to impress is an interesting and expensive thing in Oxford.

To Op: Hotty Toddy! And stay safe. Maybe try the Walmart over in Pontotoc, it was usually less hit than Tupelo, and Oxford, Batesville if you need or want something.

Who buys meat at Walmart? Try Aldi, just as inexpensive and much healthier.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49178951

Not everyone has access to Aldi. For some people it’s Walmart or farmers. Farm meat costs a lot more and not everyone can afford that.

The brand names are the same damned thing, but cheaper.

The better cuts of meat at Walmart are great, but no bargain.
