Re: Grocery doom incoming?
It depends on the store and time that I go whether its stocked, or not.

I refuse to buy any meat that is overpriced, anyway. The ground turkey, chicken, beef works for me.

Buy your meat from local farmers!! duh
 Quoting: Sitting Back

I do! I said earlier I have two freezers stocked w meat directly from local farms. Also have a crap ton of rice in the pantry directly from a Mississippi farm. Definitely the way to go if possible!

Quick Walmart run today- no fresh chicken or pork-ZERO. Almost no prepackaged lunch meat either. Beef supply was OK. I didn’t explore all the aisles- was in hurry & just needed to grab a couple items…

Anybody else seeing this?

Here in Ohio the stores are full, except for some shortages of household cleaning items.

Southern California, some stores water are completely wiped out.

I would say the shelves are 25% empty, nothing too drastic.

Was able to buy everything I needed.

However in Oahu, Hawaii the shelves are almost empty 2 weeks ago I was there.

But lets not fucking kid ourselves, STOCK UP now. Don't fuck around. All they have to do is announce shortages incoming and the shelves will be wiped out.

I remember last year in Los Angeles, around Mid-March every single shelf was cleared out for about a week or two. What a weird nightmare that was. You don't want to be caught grocery shopping when everyone else is.

Water and beans get it now

Those shelves have been emptied for cleaning. Stores have to do it every night, usually when the store is close to empty in the middle of the night.

North Alabama here. Went to a Dollar General and there was lots of items out of stock. No OJ...only 3 gallons of milk which I bought one. Low on Ceaser's dog food and almost no chew toys. Yeh yeh I know like you guys are worried about dog stuff but it is bad all over. If they have inventory they have no one to stock the shelves. And I believe it is only going to get worse. Nothing will be open once the vac mandate goes in effect. It will kill what little of an economy we have...So sad.

Also to calm your concerns from someone who is in the know. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH WORKERS TO STOCK THE MERCHANDISE. ALL THE MERCHANDISE IS IN THE BACK TAKING TIME TO STOCK BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO WORK.

Just ran to walmart for food. They had meat, but it was not as much as they usually have. Dairy is wiped out. No frozen food, or bread. No bread at all.

Crazy.

My Dollar General looked ok. Target is packed with inventory. All the things that were hard to get for a while are there. They must be staffed up good.

Kroger has random empty shelves. Sunny D, graham crackers, bread products, canned green chiles.

My 20 year old son works for ACE Hardware. There have been days when they closed early because there was no one to work the closing shift. On Sundays, he works with a teenage boy from the high school who is the acting manager.

They would have put signs up for customers to ask or ring bell to get meat. This is the SOP.

Pathetic.

Only good thing I can say is that such foods are full of nitrate chemicals and aren't really the healthiest of foods to have stored in your refrigerator. So bypassing buying something like that isn't as disruptive as avoiding purchasing basic foodstuffs.

Same here at the dollar general in upstate SC. Holes everywhere. Juice, canned goods, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, pads, tampons, Gatorade, etc. All very sparse if they did have it. Been hit or miss for weeks. I broke down and bought cat food and ibuprofen from Amazon today. I'm so ashamed. :(
