Grocery doom incoming?
Quick Walmart run today- no fresh chicken or pork-ZERO. Almost no prepackaged lunch meat either. Beef supply was OK. I didn’t explore all the aisles- was in hurry & just needed to grab a couple items…

Anybody else seeing this?

I just got an instacart order from Sam's Club, got my pork chops fine. Also a pack of turkey lunch meat.

From what I have heard, vacation destination cities' stores are better stocked. You might try that if you aren't far from one.

Food shortages will be the last and greatest shortage.

Heard from someone that even the schools can no longer guarantee lunches for the children, pack accordingly.

I’m in a small-ish town with a major university (Ole Miss). It’s normal as home football game weekends approach that the stores run out of the typical tailgating type foods, but I’ve not seen it like this before today.

Thankfully we have two freezers stocked w meat sourced directly from area farms.

Grocery stores are starting to limit the hours they are open in my city...Raleigh, NC. One after the other are starting to announce it.

I am in Louisiana. Costco has been low on beef and had no pork at all when I went in recently. I attributed it to Hurricane IDA, but now realize it's something else.

Yay, here we go again.

Re: Grocery doom incoming?
Napa CA - no yogurt or hamburger( fresh ground or rolls) on the shelf at Walmart yesterday. Hostess products appeared to not have been restocked.
Clearlake CA - shelves are empty a lot.
When they are stocked, they sell out right away, whatever the product.
I did not expect to see any empty shelves in Napa.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."

As with most things, there's a geographical pecking order, with certain cities/regions on top of the pyramid and other areas lower down.

I don't mean to slight your community, but if you were located in a larger metro area, and you experienced the same thing, that would be more alarming.

I would never bother to look at or buy meat from Walmart....Our local little stores all get their meat from local farmers. They are all stocked full, haven't seen an issue at all. Look into smaller stores in your area. You help support local farmers and I am sure the animals are treated moe humane and raised without all the added hormones.

Pathetic.

Only good thing I can say is that such foods are full of nitrate chemicals and aren't really the healthiest of foods to have stored in your refrigerator. So bypassing buying something like that isn't as disruptive as avoiding purchasing basic foodstuffs.

In North East Texas it is hit and miss. Some days the stock looks ok, some days it is slim pick'ns and vice versa depending on the product.
More and more stores are saying trucks are not full, "you get what you get" and the situation is getting worse.

Who buys meat at Walmart? Try Aldi, just as inexpensive and much healthier.
