Grocery doom incoming? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 54469829 United States 09/15/2021 07:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Someone bought a whole pallet of sugar at Sam's Club the other day. Cleaned them out. I think it must be restaurants? Anyway, it takes some time for them to get anything in, so it looks bare. I haven't been able to get any kind of chicken at Sam's Club for the past 2 weeks. They have nothing. Only expensive beef than no one can afford is fully stocked. But when I go to Kroger, there is no problem. So I've been shopping Kroger rather than mess around with Sam's/Walmart. |

Also a pack of turkey lunch meat. Quoting: Tangy From what I have heard, vacation destination cities' stores are better stocked. You might try that if you aren't far from one. I felt so terrified that I bought some buns and American cheese - has to be Kraft. Also some Inglehoffer honey mustard which was very terrifying. I literally stepped back, lowered my face shield and wept. |

Beef supply was OK. I didn’t explore all the aisles- was in hurry & just needed to grab a couple items… Quoting: Buckeye73 Anybody else seeing this? (Oxford, MS here) https://imgur.com/a/EBgDiRz Went to a Publix today, in GA...running about 50% inventory in meat section. Tomatoes were non-existent and zero corn. Lettuce was at 50-60% and there was no carrots to be seen. Oh...baby food (jars) were completely bare. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72784539 Lamb was a regular staple of my diet 20 years ago. Now it is not sold in any grocery store near me except around holidays. I wonder how the heck did Lamb become an expensive delicacy in the US? Any problems with the price of Lamb and availability in the UK? |

At Giant grocery store in Bartonsville, PA, right off interstate 80 in a tourist area of the Pocono Mountains, there was no half and half or heavy cream. A sign on the refrigerator door said they couldn't get those products for a while. ?? I'll check out Shoprite tomorrow. I've been noticing empty cat food shelves everywhere for a while. yep, it's the slow boiling frog. Last Edited by AllisonWonderland52 on 09/15/2021 08:06 PM |

Quoting: water is life Oxford is a city that if you think rich, it should come to mind. Ole Miss is the flagship school in our state, and is home to the law and medical schools. Chances are if your family has money, or political connections, you will find the kids at this school, I say that to correct the thought that the Walmart was wiped out because of food stamp day. Going to Walmart is an event in Oxford on some nights and if you are a college kid, you didn't go to there or the Huddle house without full make up and dressed well. It was almost a reverse of the People of Walmart threads you used to see. Not kidding when I say that dressing to impress is an interesting and expensive thing in Oxford. To Op: Hotty Toddy! And stay safe. Maybe try the Walmart over in Pontotoc, it was usually less hit than Tupelo, and Oxford, Batesville if you need or want something. Lived in Oxford. Very snobish people. Anonymous Coward User ID: 76538212 United States 09/15/2021 08:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We've got 18 hens 4 roosters, 6 huge turkeys, 2 ducks and they require no refrigeration as they are fresh and live and they all lay eggs. Got 14 eggs just this morning. We share with our neighbors. My garden is undergoing fall planting so I tore out the spring plants that were looking sad. I save my own seeds too. We're in an older suburb since the 70's so we are grandfathered in so laws like no roosters have no effect on us. If they bother neighbors, they don't get free eggs but I'm not above having some fresh Coq au Vin when the roosters need culling. City folk are going to be very hungry but I'm sure the government might distribute some of their underground food supplies, maybe. |

I think it’s because a lot of people have Covid, and are home dealing with it. Buying all Gatorade Quoting: The Wizzard of Ahs! To combat dehydration. The Gatorade is for watering the crops. (Movie Idiocracy) My hubby and I just droppped a walmart load of gatorade. South Carolina. They unloaded us in record time. Me thinks it is hurricane stock up related. Some places are short because trucks go to locations that are fast and efficient. They no longer have to deliver to locations that make them sit for hours and to tolerate folks who treat them poorly. Independent small companies and owner ops can tell rude locations no thanks. Guess they should have done a better job before? |
