Just the combined cost of replacing the now 100% disposable lithium battery packs in all the underwater (or soon to be) Teslas in the northeast flood states may exceed the cost of the worst ever recorded natural disaster in a few American states. Quoting: TerraFirma's Esoterrorist And we thought that the prices of new and used cars were off the charts before Ida... Wonder if "crank windows" are even an option anymore. Some could use those about now if they can't get doors open. Yep. All and only electric can be a killer. I keep a window breaker tool in the console btw seats of both vehicles. I hadn't seen that model run yet, thanks. Made a thread about 91L based on the earlier runs. Thread: Invest 91L (MINDY) Now In GOM - High Flood Threat Increasing for Gulf States - Major Hurricane Predicted in GOM on Long Range Models Looks like that run is slowing it down too. I believe the earlier model runs that showed any development was more closer to the 7th. GFS is showing a moderate tropical storm hitting Houston on 9/11 TeknaBuzz |

Yes, if you believe in weather modification. Like that hurricane that 'stalled' for several days over the Bahamas. THAT certainly was NOT NORMAL. Sure cleared off a lot of beachfront. And have seen the arcs of power hitting towns and forests in California, that melt cars but leave trees green, full of foliage, not burned? I bet you haven't spent one single minute looking at Agenda 21, or the new one, Agenda 30. |

Just think some of those fire fighters out there saving people right now have homes are doing the same thing while unattended. These guys usually have shifts that last days so when things slow down for them they have to go home and deal with all that crap. These heros don't get enough credit. As I've listened to the FDNY scanner tonight I've heard a couple incidents where they was unable to save some of the victims. Some may think there was lack of remorse or sadness in their voices announcing such unfortunate events. But the reality is there isn't time for that as there is somebody else they got to go do their best to save. That is the other mess they'll go home when their shift ends and they finally have time to collect their thoughts. TeknaBuzz |

I think I read that before but totally forgot that hack. But buying a dedicated glass breaker tool etched it in my mind. Not sure what years started doing this I'm think its relatively new within the last 5 years or so but the side windows are shatter resistant like the front windshield. 1 window isn't on a 4 door car and is marked as such. If I remember right its the passenger rear window on my truck. My truck is a 2018 and has these windows so not sure when they came out. This feature has legitimate safety bonus but can be problematic escaping a flooded out car. Something else that needs to be kept in mind of this. TeknaBuzz |

These are amazing images. And not's just a few isolated locales. Quoting: AZ40 79621597 Who would have thought the most dramatic footage of IDA would be in NJ and NYC? I don't know about that most these flooded homes in NJ and NYC are still going to be able to live in. Many people in Louisiana have homes that are totally destroyed. A lot of destroyed homes in mullica hill |

That development in Mullica Hill is new ... it's not indicative of the quality of homes in NJ, most of which were built in the 50s around here. Quoting: SugarSand They built a new hospital there. There was a boom ... an influx of yuppies. My guess is they are built by Ryan Homes but not sure. Probably. They were all pretty new... |

It's the worst in a long time but you are right ... all the places flood pretty regularly. New Jersey weather is very much like Scotland weather, from what I understand. A little warmer in the summer, but wet. Very green. Lots of water. It's actually been pretty dry in south jersey |

You can see on the radar what's a pretty typical pattern for storms around here. Quoting: SugarSand They come up across and the bay from the south. Between the Bay and Mullica Hill it's flat AF and wide open. There's an Amazon distribution center and lots of cold storage, but mostly corn and soybean fields. Lots of new development in the Mullica Hill area and Harrison and Logan Twps. because of the new hospital there. Anyone commuting over the Commodore Barry Bridge to Chester Co or to Philly from points South drive through there ... the Mullica Hill exit is the easiest on/off Wawa along the way, so lots of traffic. Today around 6 we heard a siren and saw a police SUV flying by, which is highly unusual out here in Pittsgrove in the woods. It was marked Harrison Twp, which is unheard of because it's in a different county ... and we remarked that it shouldn't be speeding with its lights on so far outside Harrison Twp. This tornado must be why. I work at Amazon. Thank Gd I didn't go in or I would've been in the tornado |
