A GLPer on the hurricane thread called this a couple days ago. Quoting: beeches He said he was a meteorologist. That there would be bad repercussions for the Delaware Valley and the Susquehanna Valley and surrounding areas near those rivers when the Ida remnants hit due to the highly saturated ground there already. maybe some other factors too. warned someone yesterday. Glad I did. Yeah the models usually do predict these things. Sometimes they predict such extremes that never really pan out. But people always seem surprised when the reality is nearly every significant flood or tropical development event is somewhat predicted by modeling. Just like Invest 91L right now it's nothing & has little model support and 30% chance of development. But in 3 or 4 days when its a tropical storm forecasted to make landfall as a major hurricane 72 hours later people are going to be like it came from nowhere. Like when NOLA said they didn't have time to evacuate. TeknaBuzz |

They come up across and the bay from the south. Between the Bay and Mullica Hill it's flat AF and wide open. There's an Amazon distribution center and lots of cold storage, but mostly corn and soybean fields. Lots of new development in the Mullica Hill area and Harrison and Logan Twps. because of the new hospital there. Anyone commuting over the Commodore Barry Bridge to Chester Co or to Philly from points South drive through there ... the Mullica Hill exit is the easiest on/off Wawa along the way, so lots of traffic. Today around 6 we heard a siren and saw a police SUV flying by, which is highly unusual out here in Pittsgrove in the woods. It was marked Harrison Twp, which is unheard of because it's in a different county ... and we remarked that it shouldn't be speeding with its lights on so far outside Harrison Twp. This tornado must be why. When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Based off some of the rainfall totals. Might be applicable for NYC in the coming hours but northern NJ for sure. Those heavier rains haven't been in NYC for 3 hours yet. But they're getting into it now and it's likely they'll see similar totals. Like I said this is looking like a possible 500 year flood event for them and its the most densely populated area of the United States. 10.5" of rain fallen near Edison TeknaBuzz |

This is how messed up the situation is. People are under tornado warning telling them to go the basement while under a flash flood emergency telling them to go to the second story of their home if possible. Most basements are completely flood in the impacted areas. 190 miles of Flash Flood Emergency! TeknaBuzz |
