These are amazing images. And not's just a few isolated locales. Quoting: AZ40 79621597 Who would have thought the most dramatic footage of IDA would be in NJ and NYC? I don't know about that most these flooded homes in NJ and NYC are still going to be able to live in. Many people in Louisiana have homes that are totally destroyed. Agreed, very true. |

Looks like Boston, Providence & Worchester areas might be the next hard hit area in the coming hours. They've been getting steady rain for quite awhile now with heavier stuff moving into the area. Quick update from around NJ’s capital city. There have been at least 75 people trapped in cars needing water rescues tonight and the Delaware hasn’t even crested yet! All the major roads have some type of issue at this point including the interstates being closed in places. Yes, water will go down, probably quickly, but the stranded cars all then need to be towed (since they’re just floating around everywhere). Then there’s people’s cars who stayed home but still got flooded. The homes themselves. Businesses. None of that was even touched on yet. Many places will be uninhabitable come daylight and this is just a small area where I am. The rest of the state got hit too, so this is just replicated over and over. Add a continuing throughout NYC, NY state, etc. This is massive. Transportation is shut down, commerce, everything is impacted. If you’re looking for a trigger for the suggested September crash, this is probably it. Right now I would say the price tag will be higher than Sandy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79540681 Agreed. LI dodged a huge bullet and was already better equipped to handle this shit. NYC is going to be like night of the living dead for the next few weeks. The amount of damage is going to boggle the mind. |

Did all the mods -or their computers- just drown? Quoting: TerraFirma's Esoterrorist Is Day After Tomorrow Day in NYC not top tier news? Have we, GLPers, been abandoned to the US Taliban? WTAF? Have the democrats attacked the firemen by calling them racists yet? That was so last week. This week Democrats report that FDNY, "let 911 happen," and that "It's the fault of the Conservative firemen that California even has wildfires!" NYC has issued a travel ban until 5am Thursday morning. No non-emergency vehicles allowed on the roadways. A little late for that. Could've done that 6 hours ago and saved lives. SMH TeknaBuzz |

Just the combined cost of replacing the now 100% disposable lithium battery packs in all the underwater (or soon to be) Teslas in the northeast flood states may exceed the cost of the worst ever recorded natural disaster in a few American states. Quoting: TerraFirma's Esoterrorist And we thought that the prices of new and used cars were off the charts before Ida... Wonder if "crank windows" are even an option anymore. Some could use those about now if they can't get doors open. Yep. All and only electric can be a killer. |
