Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79176474 i requested a religious accommodation, and after several attempts to use coercion, veiled threats of being fired, and so on, I had a meeting with manager, supervisor, and HR, presented them with a letter, my Holy Bible, made my case (importantly, that the masks are not defined as PPE by relevant regulating agencies like OSHA or the CDC, and therefore fall under a dress code) and am not required to wear a mask or faceshield as a condition of my employment. The HR manager was actually extremely cordial and respectful - I enjoy those encounters with people, because it helps me bring what is best to the surface to be polite and professional with others. Thats awesome, good job! this is the AC you replied to - thank you. I just wanted to share that so people are aware of the idea and that it is an important part of an employers responsibilities to employees to respect their religious beliefs - likewise, it is also important that employees are sincere about it. Everything I said was the truth about my life and perspective as well, I didn't make anything up just to get out of it, which I believe came across to them as genuine and they understood I meant it. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76784450 United States 10/20/2020 05:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was sent home today for refusing to wear a mask. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37645337 I do commercial HVAC for a local school district and service about 30 large schools. I have a legit medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask. I had a pulmonary embolism and almost died about two years ago. As a result I have reduced lung capacity. Plus I reject the silly kindergarten propaganda flatout as nonsense and refuse to participate in the Hoax. The fat angry office lady was not wearing one when I arrived and not up over her nose later on...yet called HR on me. Not my boss, the head of HR. I knew this day was coming. The actual LAW will be tested. They will be forced to ignore standing LAW they violate with the mask business. **under OSHA definitions a piece of cloth covering the mouth and nose constitutes a mask/respirator. **even if I voluntarily wear a mask, they MUST institute a repirator program We do not have a respirator program. What authority would my employer have to require a dr note from me for the mask. The state health department guidance letter never mentions having to prove one’s health condition in regard to exemptions. Then there is this gem I stumbled on.... SRC-93 active bill [link to leginfo.legislature.ca.gov (secure)] this is the kind of argument I presented to HR when I received a religious accomodation. if it isn't PPE with strict rules about time usage, fit tests, and all the other pertinent details, then it's a dress code and is basically being enforced by coercion, intimidation, shaming, and conformity. it's the kind of "stay off the grass" level of tyranny that is actually a lot worse than it seems because it's baseless, arbitrary, and sets a precedent for much more down the road. |

Quoting: Anonymous Girl Take 4. There's a lot of talk about "masktards on here," but I'm curious just how many of those people are actually employed and working outside of their homes. I work at home so I am not one of those dummies who wears a mask inside. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79496395 The blind compliance of two thirds of the world with a "symbol" of oppression, and their complete willingness and unquestioning acceptance of the "authority" with the loudest voice, without ANY self-verification. I look forward to the day when I get challenged. The day the weak two thirds of the world encounter the unfaltering pillar of self-autonomy. The confrontation feels close. ''blind compliance'' thats rich.. i don,t want to wear one but i have to. because i need a job to pay bills if not i will be starving, homeless, and freezing to death just because i wanted to go by what someone on the internet says..(who obviously doesn,t have to deal with this situation because otherwise he would be quiet about it). you are a moran if you look forward for that day to come to be challenged.. and you obviously don,t know what the hell you are talking about.. I have still never worn a mask, I work, I shop, I haven't changed my way of life at all. I wont mention where I live, since every time it comes up in the news a herd of Karens appear out of nowhere to scold everyone. As far as I'm concerned, this is still America. But it seems many, if not most big cities are now ruled in a Chinese authoritarian style way. They care not about the constitution, nor individual freedoms and rights. If/When it makes it's way into these parts, there WILL be push back... tik tok |
