(OP) User ID: 79419256 Canada 10/19/2020 09:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We have to wear a mask at my job. We all work in cubicles so while alone in that space, most workers take them off. While in common shared areas most wear them, but there are some who keep theirs pulled below their noses. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78618912 We just had a worker test positive. We will see how this unfolds over the next few weeks. No talk of closing or special cleaning. I wear a mask and wash my hands, I try to social distance, even with a mask but it's not always manageable. I believe they could close us down if even just one person tested positive. 4 that I work closely with have been tested, all negative. what get me riled up is i know something is fake about covid but how are people i know getting negative and postive results and some people have positive no symptoms and some ppl are postive with crazy af symptoms Outside of where I work, I know of one person who supposedly tested positive...my boss's father's golfing buddy. Her parents self-isolated for 2 weeks...which was probably a month ago now and they're both fine. If you look at the "numbers" here in Ontario, the reaction makes no sense. It never did. Quoting: Anonymous Girl Take 4. There's a lot of talk about "masktards on here," but I'm curious just how many of those people are actually employed and working outside of their homes. Have not worn one yet. No mandates here, and I would not anyway. I work for myself.. when I do, I am retired (retired at 39) and self employed since then. That alone shows I am a bit smarter than the average. So no, I don't and won't. The idiots that make their stupid claims of "wear it to protect others" have to be about the dumbest fuckers on earth... That is akin to me coming to your home, tearing out the window screens and replacing them with chain link fence to keep the mosquitoes in your house from going out and biting the neighbors.. I felt like a bank teller, but there was no need to wear a mask that day. I take it off whenever possible but I've seen teachers wearing them by themselves in empty classrooms. |

I refuse to wear a mask at work, if they force me I’ll work from home or quit. However, I put one on to go into Trader Joe’s. Those masktard bitches are crazy! Ain’t nobody got time for dat! Its bullshit and I know it. Company policy is that you wear your mask unless you're alone in your office. Even if you're alone in the halls and no one is around, you're supposed to be wearing it. ...except I don't! If someone says something I say, "OK, I'll wear it but you know this is all complete and utter bullshit, right?" ...and then put it on to be polite. There are people that are genuinely scared of this thing all because of the hysteria manufactured by the media. They're not "masktards" they're "mediatards" or just "go along to get along -tards". :( Fucking sheep. |

Hubby's work also announced anyone who has to come into the office, it is mandatory mask wearing. Since work from home was an option in March, we moved to the country and are dealing with the shittiest internet reception, but it still works good enough for us to deal with working from home. I will not complain, as I don't miss the city or the BS. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79141621 United States 10/19/2020 10:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have an office in an office pavilion. In my office, no mask because it's just me. Walking in or out or to the crapper though, mask only. It is very similar to when I worked for a fortune 500 in the 90's at their corporate. Suit coat on when walking around. Off when you got to your desk. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79396320 Canada 10/19/2020 11:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No one wears the mask properly anyways. They are testing how far they can go with this. The problem is the majority of people are idiots and believe every word of their government because it’s a democracy. I guess they just don’t realize what happens when the majority in that democracy are retarded |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 67991881 Canada 10/19/2020 11:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is terrifying. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79496395 The blind compliance of two thirds of the world with a "symbol" of oppression, and their complete willingness and unquestioning acceptance of the "authority" with the loudest voice, without ANY self-verification. I look forward to the day when I get challenged. The day the weak two thirds of the world encounter the unfaltering pillar of self-autonomy. The confrontation feels close. ''blind compliance'' thats rich.. i don,t want to wear one but i have to. because i need a job to pay bills if not i will be starving, homeless, and freezing to death just because i wanted to go by what someone on the internet says..(who obviously doesn,t have to deal with this situation because otherwise he would be quiet about it). you are a moran if you look forward for that day to come to be challenged.. and you obviously don,t know what the hell you are talking about.. The only retards out there are the ones wearing masks in cars while they drive etc. This is REAL SCIENCE right here. The size of the virus is is anywhere between .06-.14 in microns. The N95 respirator protects up to .30 microns. Get into a P100 well I would hope you get the idea. NO FUCKING PIECE of cloth will protect you from the virus. Quite simple really. A particle can and will travel through those surgical masks with ease. This isn't some fear thing, it's actual fact. Don't start with the droplet size drivel bullshit. IF masks work, then why are they announcing more cases all the time? Is it because they are testing more with a faulty testing method, probably. Is it a tactic to try and prevent the spread? Sure. But the reality is, we need to breathe oxygen. IF these leaders are so god damned concerned for everyone's health, then why the fuck can't we get food to everyone on the planet? 3 million kids under the age of 5 die from starvation every year on this planet. Gee if only there were a cure? People have to get their dull heads out of the moran gutter and start listening to smart people. NOT corrupt lying sociopathic governments and politicians. FFS! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 2048289 United States 10/19/2020 11:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm required to wear one only when we are unable to socially distance, otherwise socially distance is fine. Basically I come in with it on to get my temp checked, and then as soon as I can remove it I do. I generally don't have to wear it longer than 15 mins at a time. |

I've met elderly couples who give a rat's ass about masks. But then I've dealt with people who wont even let me in their home... one time they didnt even want my shoes in the house when I took them off. I only wear it to make people happy.. and I wont do it forever |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79176474 i requested a religious accommodation, and after several attempts to use coercion, veiled threats of being fired, and so on, I had a meeting with manager, supervisor, and HR, presented them with a letter, my Holy Bible, made my case (importantly, that the masks are not defined as PPE by relevant regulating agencies like OSHA or the CDC, and therefore fall under a dress code) and am not required to wear a mask or faceshield as a condition of my employment. The HR manager was actually extremely cordial and respectful - I enjoy those encounters with people, because it helps me bring what is best to the surface to be polite and professional with others. Thats awesome, good job! |
