We passed on a brand new house as newlyweds that would have gained us 200k+ in three years. Yeah, it was a bad decision but the one that felt right to us; ownership at that time was scary & we didn't feel ready for the responsibility. We learned to trust our financial advisor, own the decisions you can't change & be willing to stretch our comfort zones sometimes when all the research show its a safe stretch.

I jumped at it and bought in 2012 and I’m siting so pretty. Super appreciated and basically already paid most of it off. Ready to buy more for fun and rent going up what is that? Live within your means, step down if need be. Bottom line, if you can afford to pay rent, you can afford a mortgage payment. Especially one on a 30 year loan. You just have to check your expectations and not try to keep up with the Jones'.

Property is an investment, it is supposed to appreciate, not depreciate dumb ass.

If you had the will and the tenacity, you would purchase a home then you could take advantage of the property appreciating in value. Instead of bitching like a whiny ass brat blaming your shortcomings on everyone else.

Its not uncommon for new subdivisions to start out with houses for example in the 250k - 300k price range. Then 10, 15 years later those same houses are worth 400k+, its the market and what people are willing to pay to get into those certain areas. Thats the way it works, and if you did what it takes to own a home, you would soon realize that too.

Hate it for ya. It was 20+ years ago for us, been several purchases since then last one in 2008. We had to sweat through a few years there but it came around, prices keep increasing around us, we'd love to sell while prices are up but don't want to pay high either & hate to rent for an indefinite period of time.
Are you in a hot market? Find a realtor w experience handling fire closures/short sales to see if you can find a great deal.

Rent for a 2 bed = $1500/month
Own a 4 bed home = 817 (mortgage) + 500 (taxes) = $ 1317

Plus mortgage would have been fixed!!!

Renting is for tards. Its better to buy a property and have the rentards pay your mortgage for you with a few hundred / month left over to pocket. Down in FL You can generally find cheap condo units for $60k or so, pay $350 in mortgage and rent it out for $850 / month. Nothing sweeter than some douche loser forking over free money to you every month.

NE Ohio crashtard here. I'm paying $629 for a full size one bedroom plus garage. Includes heat, water, security and trash pickup. No dishwasher at that price. Nice low crime semi rural area. Haven't seen a homeless person in 5 years.

After buying and selling so many houses, and always making a capital gain, I basically just pay property tax on a 3bdrm 2 bath with an in ground private pool on a hillside culdesac with a view.

25 years ago it all started with buying a foreclosed condo.

Find something you can afford, make 13 payments a year minimum and you will notice a big difference in the end.
