Hey Op, Does the person she was staying with have birds? Or does their house have mice?

Small spider mites live on birds and mice and they can bite humans in their vicinity and leave bites that can look very much like that. I notice some of her bite marks look like they are in a line. Make sure all her clothing from the sleep over, especially her sleeping bag, is washed in hot water with a little bleach.

Take care of the bedding issues quickly and don't let her do a sleepover again at that friend's house again because once you have spider mites (bird or rat mites) they are very hard to irradicate. They are so small you can barely see them. They look like very tiny little black (sometimes gray ) moving dots as small as a period at the end of this sentence.

keep her away from other children, cool the spots with calamine lotion. clears up within a few weeks. ( afever can also be present with this.)

Looks a lot like what we got hit with a little over a year ago . See the lines? That's what worries me the sign of some kind of parasite. Been to several doctors sent specimens to 2 labs and center for disease control and they said they found .nothing. I call it bullshit.

If it is pus it is just mild bacterial infection that could be caused by a new food or sweat.

Has she been swimming?

Has she been in the woods, or a yard with mature pine trees?
It's chigger epidemic season here in the Mid-Atlantic region....we cot covered with them a coupple weks ago--they will be actve until frost--they are like mini-ticks--get a magnifying glas, you should be able to see some moving--"little tiny mites"

Have to ask age? and how well do you know the friends?
have seen a mix of drugs and or pills cause a break-out like this in others.

Chiggers like tight clothing, like neckbands, elastic on underware/bras--they can itch a lot.
