ALERT! Andrews AFB sending out code on shortwave! Several EAM's today!

So. . . I tuned into the radio frequency, and turned it up. My husband, who is a Comm Guy in the military was asking me what the heck I was listening to. He listened to it. He said that in his knowledge of radio and military communications, it sounds like a regular daily testing (they will do this like 20 times a day sometimes). They test these regularly to ensure they are working, ops checking; so if SHTF they are up and know they are in working order. They are used for actual mission stuff as well, like being used as a step site to relay information. It is not the preferred communication route for official military business, its not fast, and its not clear. It is useful if the other communications aren't working, it's like a back up - to use if they had to. That is why it is tested and used frequently to maintain the use of it in the event of a situation where it was the last comm line.

Anybody else watching the live stream of the WH dinner? The feed just went down. Did it for anyone else?

Sometimes I can hear voices in the static but I can't

I was just coming over to say that. The action will pick back up or it will move to a different source. All the code was probably about whats getting ready to go down, things in the east are picking up!

I think it would be a good idea to know HAM or at least the basics.

If this thing is encoded and not plain giberish, I will try to decode it in the morning just for fun. But if the guy really knows about encryption then it's going to be impossible to decode the giberish in phrases so can understand it.

Don't waste your time. It's not encryption its a key to instructions. Without the instruction playbook it is useless, other than the fact the activity change hints at something.

Just throwing that out there.
