I'll bite and speculate that no we have not abandoned israel nor will we ever. We are asking for focus I think on their part and it doesn't include Iran at this point in time. One gigantic push we have troops in Jordan, not long for troops in Syria even if only under the guise of the UN. One massive push and you disable hamas and 1/2 the issues we have in that area. Just a more subtle way of chipping away at iran.
