I never said that I know more than NASA, but I believe I do know what they know, and don't want YOU to know...just for the record. There is a grain of salt to all this, UV light isn't visible by the naked eye...but a camera's eye can see it. Perhaps this object is emitting UV light only and isn't reflective as other celestial objects tend to be? I'm not expert, but I do know some things. And i know BS when i see it and step in it. And for folks to be coming out the woodwork to disprove things....just a thought. Just tried this with my solar filter for my 8 inch reflector. Held it up to my eye, only saw the sun. Recorded it with camera and saw this object. Location Southeatern US... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 20489071 United States 08/14/2012 05:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was talking about the original video, not every random video someone calls a second sun. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20489071 Watch it again (all the way through this time) and tell me if it moves when they move the camera... Note that you don't actually need welder's glass to make this happen. Any flat optical surface in front of the camera will do. If it were real, people everywhere would be seeing it, amateur astronomers especially. And as the earth turns yes things do allign differently throughout the day and night. Otherwise the sun would be in the exact place every day without night or day, rising or setting. Quoting: ACRising and setting has nothing to do with whether an object will appear "behind the sun" or not. Real objects in space don't play peek-a-boo with the sun as a block. They may be behind the sun temporarily, but only for a few months at best, and at that time no one on earth gets to see it regardless of where they are. If it is behind the sun through most of the day, (key word "most") we would only be able to view it when, as it goes through its orbit and we go through ours, there is an allignment where it's position is not blocked out by the sun. Quoting: ACWord salad. If it comes out from behind the sun as we both orbit the sun, then it's going to continue to do so. It's NOT going to come out for part of the day, go back behind the sun, then pop out again on some other random day and repeat. That's not how objects move in space. Actually that is exactly how objects seem to move in space, but it is our vantage point as the earth turns that gives it the "illusion" of this. During an eclipse the sun "pops" behind the moon then appears to "pop" out from behind it. If this object is behind the sun, then at certain times, due to the allignment of the bodies and our perspective as the earth moves, it is possible we could see it at that point. |

During an eclipse the sun "pops" behind the moon then appears to "pop" out from behind it. Quoting: ACWhen the moon passes over the sun during an eclipse it passes straight over it and keeps going. Unless you're orbiting earth it doesn't reverse direction, and then sit on the sun until some random point in time later where it only momentarily uncovers the sun. THAT is what you're proposing is happening for observers here on earth. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1579810 A) If you see it, it's there. B) If you don't see it, it isn't there. if the earth was in the centre of the universe, this would maybe be true.... i saw this exact thing with my own eyes this summer. one sun, and one smaller sun-like object shining just as bright. i was driving at a freeway when i saw it, so it was only visible for a few minutes. guess both the object and the observer needs to be in a perfect position in order to see it. |

User ID: 21399970 United Kingdom 08/14/2012 05:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21399970 They are simply pointing out what they know. The science we know of can't explain everything but at least these people are using their knowledge of science to try to explain what seems like abnormal changes in our solar system. The people on here who call everybody who tries to explain why they are wrong 'shills' are the same people who see a stupid fucking video on Youtube and come on here saying "OMG THE WURLD IZ GOIN TO END PLZ PIN!!!!' The people who believe them are just as fucking stupid! Never claimed these were abnormal...just been a very long time since this has all happened. As the old saying goes, "There is nothing new under the sun". This is all part of a natural cycle. I can promise you the time i have spent outdoors, watching the skies, watching the flora and fauna of our planet far exceeds any JPL or NASA or NOAA and other acronym's empirical data. Just because i'm not formally educated on the subject doesn't mean i'm not an expert. I can't comment on the video of two suns, i'm not sure what to make of it. I can say it wouldn't suprise me one bit that a camera could pick up something in the UV spectrum that the naked eye could not..for what it's worth. So basically you are saying that because you look at the sky you know more than NASA, which contains hundreds of Astronomers and astrophysicists working day and night? You know more about the Earth, solar system and the universe than all of these guys combined? He may not technically "know" more than they do, or perhaps he does, but the point here and in any Niburu thread is that if they do know, they haven't revealed it to the public. Either because 1) they have no idea what to expect, or 2) they know full well what to expect and have decided to quietly make plans up until the time it's close enough that it's more obvious that it is there and can't be hidden anymore. If there is a planet/dwarf sun coming our way then NASA would know about it for sure! How many times have NASA detected something that may be harmful to us and reported it? I've seen it many times! If they have found something then I'm pretty sure it's their decision to release that information to the public. I'm also pretty sure that they didn't find using an iPhone camera! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 21913933 United States 08/14/2012 05:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | People need to understand that lens flare can be multi-faceted. That he showed what he was calling his 'real lensflare' was directly related to what he was calling 'something in our solar system'. I'm not a non-believer, but I do aim to do away with what is not authentic. There are more people bent on believing, or falling for, falsities and fabrication than they are to believe the actual truth. |

No, Im not suggesting that it moves back and forth or that its apperances or random, or at will. Im suggesting that most of the time, the object is eclipsed by the sun due to the suns size, but there are times, probably sunrise and towards sunset, when its no longer eclipsed by the sun and this is when people are seeing it. I never said it goes back and forth behind the sun like its teleporting, so stop it. |

Honestly I'd be embarrassed to swear that much on a video and have everyone watch and listen to it. I know, typical polite Canadian. Anonymous Coward User ID: 21201441 United States 08/14/2012 05:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I also caught a photo of it once, two suns side by side, last summer. It was a really cloudy sunset and there always seemed to be these weird, milky clouds full of orbs (lots of photos of those, too) and things coming in from the coast a lot in afternoon. A lot of the cloud cover post Fukushima was so weird looking, almost fake and cartoonish even, was Twilight Zone time. Well, one day, taking photos of the sun as it got low on the horizon in the clouds, I got a glimpse of a second sun right next to it, sort of close, and it was peeking through the clouds, it seemed. Either that, or it was a light ship or something, I even considered the possibility that our sunsets were being simulated by various objects taking turns, and the moon was totally weird, too. Well, here's the pic, anyway... IMAGE ( [link to i48.tinypic.com] ) Same shot cropped and using invert process: IMAGE ( [link to i49.tinypic.com] ) And another, if it's a flare, sure looked cool, anyway. IMAGE ( [link to i45.tinypic.com] ) I don't claim to know for sure that these are not some type of camera flare, but I will say that I took hundreds of photos around that time and I deleted hundreds that did have flares in them and only saved the ones I thought were interesting, or not sure if they were a flare or light artifact. I have no problem with someone calling them a lens flare, but to me it's an example of just how deceiving they can be, if they are indeed nothing "real". |
