Anonymous Coward User ID: 83765791 United States 11/03/2022 01:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Income tax... learn how to step around most of that. What I hate is sales tax; difficult to get around. I see it just the opposite. Hated Delaware's no sales tax/income tax combo. for me, it is easier to limit the amount I spend, or wait for the tax holidays. the tax on food was recently lifted for one month due to inflation. Even with a sales tax, almost everything is tons cheaper here... have NOT figured that one out. Most of TN is way too liberal now. Don't dare go near Nashville. Its ridicoulos. Might as well be in CA or IL |

Cons: Property taxes are high. 6.9% sales tax. State income tax. Highest population density. Terrible gun laws. Traffic can be very heavy. Inner cities are no-go zones for outsiders (but not for true Jerseyans - we go anywhere we want). Pros: Friendly, helpful people (most are, believe it or not) with a live-and-let-live attitude. Best pizza and Italian-American food in the world. Beautiful countryside once outside of the cities. Police are well-paid, professional and courteous. Hospitals are arguably the best in the nation. Agree about the people, pizza (CT ties, Naples Italy exceeds) Countryside is available anywhere. Glad you like the cops, I would assume that's a local thing. If they're well paid it's because you pay them. I like cops who remember who pays them, not cops who are "fair to all" and give migrants the advantage. Yes we have good hospitals in this area. You can get anything in the stores, but still I end up buying from ebay, Amazon, etc. where I can also get anything. No sales tax on essentials, that's good because there's plenty of sales tax on other things, including now gasoline. The Jersey Shore isn't what it used to be, since Sandy. The farther south you go, the better the shore is. And I don't mean South Jersey. Car culture is better in the South where they don't rot out from road salt. |

The drivers suck, the street signs are backwards, the weather sucks, cost of living is too high, taxes suck. the people are the rudest in the whole world (except maybe the French). Quoting: A Jackson Mississippi is bad as well, too fucking hot and humid! Too many bugs. The whole place makes me itch. Nothing to do but drink beer cause the water is rancid. South Carolina was OK, good cost of living, strange blue laws like you can only buy beer during daylight hours. Which is good in the summer but bad around New Years eve. There really isn’t a thing called southern hospitality. If you move there from out of state be prepared to get the stink-eye from the locals, can’t really blame them though. Too many bugs and snakes, Water sucked, full of salt. Colorado is a mixed bag. The front range is far too crowded, Pueblo sucks. The water is great, good fishing if you like to only eat trout. Some spectacular mountains. Weather for me was just about perfect but depends a lot on location. Great skiing. Hunting is getting difficult, too many ‘corporate’ hunters. Too many fires. Hawaii sux, too crowded except for the big island. Love the mountains and volcanoes. Cost of living is high. Absolutely no change in the weather. Can’t go anywhere without flying for 6 hours. Hawaiians are mostly cool but a bit child like, they have no worries. There are no snakes in Hawaii but Hawaiians are scared to death of them. Water was good. New Mexico sux, no trees except on the few mountains, crime is way high in certain places, chilies are great, balloon festival is nice, nothing has changed in Albuquerque in 50 years, Santa Fe is nice except for the libtards. There are far too many Texans trying to ski, kayak, fly fish, and hunt. I’ve lived in more places but I really have to get some work done. Always seems when it comes to Mississippi, people either absolutely love living here or absolutely hate it. It’s definitely hot and humid, lots of bugs, especially mosquitoes, plus the roads are the worst I’ve ever seen of any state. You see people with cracked windshields quite often due to all the damn flying rocks on the highways. People drive like maniacs here which makes that worse with all the busted up roads that never seem to get fixed often. Nothing like jumping in the pool on a hot and humid summer night though. For all this states faults, I still love living here. |
