These conditions include increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels. User ID: 11700036 Canada 10/07/2021 10:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's a syndrome alright. In 2018, 26.8% of Canadians 18 and older (roughly 7.3 million adults) reported height and weight that classified them as obese. Another 9.9 million adults (36.3%) were classified as overweight – bringing the total population with increased health risks due to excess weight to 63.1% in 2018. Over half of the population haha!! Gluttony and lethargy are silent killers...well, fat and lazy people are generally loud and obnoxious. Who would expect a person who can't control their impulses to control their temptations and desires? |

Metabolic syndrome is associated with the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.[1][2] In the U.S., about 25% of the adult population has metabolic syndrome, a proportion increasing with age, particularly among racial and ethnic minorities.[3][4] Insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and prediabetes are closely related to one another and have overlapping aspects. The syndrome is thought to be caused by an underlying disorder of energy utilization and storage. The cause of the syndrome is an area of ongoing medical research." Honestly everyone looks swollen. Last year I dropped all sugar and processed food since I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. 6 months later I no longer had the issue...dropped 40lbs and no longer swollen..lol. and my blood lipids are essentially perfect What's so maddening is people ask me how I did it and as soon as I tell them..." Oh I could not do that...I need my blah blah blah" Fine. Stay fat and continue with your metabolic syndrome. That probably pretty crappy for me to think but the solution is right in front of us and people are acting like a bunch of drug addicts. Is there a chance we could get some honesty up in here? |

A fancy phrasing for a mere nutritional deficiency combined with a "I'd rather eat shit than healthy" attitude. Quoting: I'm allergic to AI True but I was just as confused. I thought bread was "healthy" People tell me they started eating better and list off what they have incorporated in their diet and I am like...oh no don't add that. I used to think most fat people were just gluttons and had poor self control. Then it happened to me and I was running...working out...eating tons of salads but could not drop weight for anything. Finally Took ALL sugar out of my diet..no bread, starches. Boom dropped 10 pounds the 1st 2 weeks. It's the type of food being eaten causing this insane rise in insulin resistance. Is there a chance we could get some honesty up in here? |

That probably pretty crappy for me to think but the solution is right in front of us and people are acting like a bunch of drug addicts. I firmly believe it's the fortified white flour and sugar-laden bread that is causing most of it. Fortified white flour is poison. The combination of flour and sugar might as well be spackle. I gave up flour many years ago, and have avoided all the health problems (which I guess ARE "metabolic syndrome") that my family develops in their 40s. At 45 I'm still wearing jeans from high school. It's the bread. Not "carbs" per se, but the cheap, fortified white flour in combination with sugar and the rest. My friends and family will say to me "I don't know how you do it! I wish I had your metabolism!" I reply - "just give up the bread and the sugar". No one takes me up on it, and they all quaff statins and whine about fat. When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Not me, my dear one - THIS IS MY SACRED LIFE - to no one nor no thing I'll surrender. Anyone who is heading towards metabolic syndrome (or is already there) would do well to go on a low carb diet, and cut out all sugar and artificial sweeteners. A diet that is mostly non-starchy vegetables and protein will often reverse insulin sensitivity over time. Cortisol, a stress hormone, is also a huge factor in why people develop this. There's also a genetic predisposition towards developing it. Looks like freedom but it feels like death. It's something in between I guess... it's closing time. Lenonard Cohen |

I had/have metabolic syndrome and it is the ONLY thing that works to combat it imo. Do NOT let yourself get put on insulin!!! I'm really happy for you. I don't know what caused you to radically change your diet and eliminate all sugar from it, but this has to be one of the most important life decisions every single human being should make. We're coming to a time in human history where the average diet has become so harmful to the body that actual knowledge, truth and experts are emerging and the right issues start being addressed. Your bread example is excellent as, like potatoes, it has been part of traditional foods for millennia yet was never healthy. Beware of god. Do not feed. |

In nature, carbs don't have a lot of bioavailable iron in them. It does stuff to your pancreas. On top of it, flour is somewhat addictive. Add-in exercising for 30 minutes 3x per week and the additional weight will start melting off. Once a person does that, other related maladies like heart problems, high blood pressure, etc. tend to fix themselves over a relatively short time span as long as the person maintains a healthy diet and supplementation routine.
