I like/love drinking. And with kratom as a replacement I am down to 2 days a week of drinking which adds to writing so I am not upset at the 5-2 ratio and am having fun with it. Holy! A few gel caps of red da maeng (1/2 gram caps) in the am (about 3) and then one every 2 hours and I forget about drinking at all. Until I feel the need to write so I just drink. There are no side effects. I tried to get 'high on it' and ate 5 grams but it ws all itchy and scratchy and sweaty so...meh, not my cup of tea. Seemed opiate like (I'm allergic to opiates). But just the maintenance cap here and there and I dropped all desire. I pretty much have to force myself to drink, since she is my muse.
Quoting: Saint Lance the Odd from BC

I swear by Happy Hippo Herbals brand of kratom.

I buy bulk a kilo of each and it lasts me months and months. I usually get the Pink Maeng-da (red and white maeng da mix) and their Red Sumatra/Bali mix. Shits good.

I was on opiates for damn near 5 years following a major back injury. About 6 years ago I hit my knees in desperation wanting to stop being a slave of opiates.

I ended up deciding to quit on my own and had my doctor write me a script for valiums and then told my wife I'm going to be in the motorhome for about a week.

I went into that camper and set my full bottle of dilaudids on the a TV in front of me. Everytime I woke up and wanted a pill out of that bottle I took more valium and passed back out. After about day 5 I came out of that camper ok, stinky, sweaty, but no more a slave to that fucking shit.

Haven't looked back since. Kratom has helped me when I needed relief. I really am grateful for that plant.

do yourself a favor and stay away from this dangerous drug --

the FDA has found that at least 47 people have died from kratom use since 2010
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79674605

Whoop-dee-do, your DEA charged my RCMP 700k to chase me for what ended up as mist. WHo the fuck cares what the FDA states CCP troll.
Quoting: Saint Lance the Odd from BC

Gottlieb was trying to ban it as "unsafe" and "uneffective" even while the company he had a financial stake in, GSK, had patented the active alkaloids in kratom as "safe" and "effective". Of these 47 deaths in 11 years, every single one of them was linked with people mixing kratom with actual opioids. There are ZERO deaths from KRATOM ALONE. And even if there had been 47 deaths in 11 years due to Kratom alone (which there weren't) more people than that die of ingesting too much water.

Trying to ban Kratom was an attempt by the revolving-door cronies from big pharma to get rich.

Thanksfully Gottlieb failed.

Excellent Thread Lance!

I am cracking up at all of the parrots who are telling peeps how dangerous this natural plant is - though they just heard that from the official pharma drug dealers.

Kratom is a life saver for some.

The red is harsh...even though it's best for pain. Take it with food.

The white is more mellow an doesn't f me up -

Gonna try the green next.

Yes it has some down sides - as does any powerful medicine.

It has been used for centuries in Asia.....is filled with good alkaloids, anti anxiety, anti inflammatory, anti depressant, anti cancer, works excellent for pain...... but of course they want to demonize it because they want you on 20 synthetic medications to treat those conditions that could be resolved naturally...........
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80165464

You hit the nail on the head. Kratom works great and like anything else use in moderation. Not deadly like cigs, alcohol or hard drugs. It's a great way to get off the booze too.

I do about 2 grams of powder mixed in fruit juice 15 minutes before I run and then enjoy a 1/2 gram of good sativa stoner

I run 6-10 miles every night. I’m 60 btw
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78609394

Yes, I was wondering about mixing it with cannabis. MY strain (Roberts Creek Congo) is a very fine sativa. Unfortunately every time I smoke anything i just fall asleep. I might try and rectify that since I got a lot more done when I smoked pot then I do now. Lazy potheads me'arse. I did get a bonus from a land race seed company and might actually grow Acapulco Gold. I have the OG seeds.

Kratom is the fucking devil. I started taking it. 2 grams. Then 3 gram. 4 gram. Next thing I knew I was taking 40 grams a day . Extremely hard to come off and the withdrawl is fucking real ! Do not start this stuff. It's extremely addictive and extremely hard to come off. Cigarettes were easier to quit !

It's not an "ancient medicine for opiate withdrawal" dumbass.

It's a fucking opioid. It will sink it's claws in deep if you use every day.

In Thailand, where it's used regularly, they have rehab facilities full of kratom addicts that are prescribed oral morphine for their withdrawals.

We think of it as "weak" here because it doesn't cause respiratory depression.

However, because of its SSRI activity, the withdrawal is infinitely longer and more arduous than a standard opiate.

I found kratom about 10 years ago. First year I’d use it to lessen the withdrawals from heroin. I eventually quit opiates and have been taking kratom every day for 8 years now. No doubt it saved my life.

As someone who used Kratom for 5 years, its effects will eventually wear off and you will just become dependent on it to feel normal.

Good news is, the detox really isn't that bad. Lasts a few days, me and my girl had no problem quitting it.

I'd recommend variating strains for tolerance purposes.

After being booted from "pain management" a few years ago because tested positive for thc I started using kratom. I have issues with opiates. They really mess up my stomach over maybe 15 mg.
My back is so degenerated that I can't function without pain management and kratom was a savior for me.
I can't take enough to get "high" either but I take a rounded tablespoon every 4 hours and it does a great job.
They gave me hydrocodone for surgery and it doesn't even compare to the effects of kratom for pain.
My state is owned by big pharma and they've outlawed kratom because it would put a large part of their business out...
It's a great replacement for methadone and suboxone also for people getting off heroin addiction.
I no longer use any pharmaceuticals. All natural all the way and believe more people should use kratom.

On the natural morphine.. unless there is genuine intolerance.. it does not murder your kidneys and livers. One of my reasons for some ugly pain coming off.. was I had torn a knee ligament and had my knee rebuilt 4 weeks before I had to move and a lot of discomfort was that move.. the knee.. experimenting with 3 weeks of juice in water for my diabetes and not using my insulin and well more during that time.

In my post about that time above. I had forgotten the other thing.. My knee. you need knees when moving.

my webmaster came for a few days and packed and boxed everything that could be put in boxes before moving day.

Knees are highly useful when UNPACKING and putting things away. that has a lot to do with the increased pain during my slow weaning. I began the weaning from my morphine during moving day. June 9th.... 3 years ago in a week. Its been a good 3 years though... except for the covid shit. which ate into my activities which is one reason I seem to live on GLP.

Taken kratom for over 10 years.
Have had some side effects effecting kidneys and maybe liver but only happened when starting again or with a new strain. In about a week your body will start making the enzymes to break down the kratom more effectively but some people still have trouble. Less is more with kratom though; rarely ever go above 2-3 grams.

Otherwise only good things to say about kratom. There is a reason why Thailand is removing kratom from its narcotics list and the FDA never scheduled kratom as a narcotic.

Re: Kratom Works, It is Good Medicine
Lance I finally went past the 7 days and gave you green today.

Now I am going to do a little teaching here.. Nature provides thru the evolutionary process everything the human body and the bear bodies and all that needed by all creatures.

The biggy problem has become big pharma which over regulates and has made toxic pain meds that nature did not produce.

When I started the morphine in early 1999.. I have been thru all of shit artificial pain meds.. including the Fentanyl patch. All of them. for arthritis .. every thing.. I cannot take any of those drugs for arthritis.. not a one. I cannot take NSAIDs. in fact one they put me one a long time ago.. when my arthritis flared.. caused my mouth to swell and bleed and I got tested for autoimmune disease and it was just the NSAID. That one was MECLOMEN.

I used to be able to take a couple of doses of Ibuprofen before my gums started up and I can't take any now...

the issue with Aspirin which nature provided.. is that I have a serious genetic clotting disorder... and I have had some major BLEEDS in my life before that was diagnosed and I learned I could not use aspirin.

I can't use much cinnamon either.. just some in food.. because its high in coumarin which is natures drug too.

I have enjoyed a bit too much cinnamon recently and my belly is bruised up from my insulin shots.

Tylenol has raised my liver enyzmes too much more than once.. and I take it maybe twice a month now. I have taken care of kids that turned a serious yellow and had to be hospitalized if they ate or drank their childrens tylenol

tylenol is not of nature.

as a HUMAN BEING you have a god given right to get relief for intractable pain.. and that got fucked up 3 years ago. and Trump was right on some of those drugs. Some of what nature produces like Heroin.. and nature does make stuff that produces highs like alcohol and miserable people use them to escape life.

Morphine when we started on that for my intractable pain.. gave me back my life. I am not allergic to it. It doesn't even make me high.. too big a dose just makes me go to sleep.

initially I was given 30 mg tab... and put on by my qualified physician 3 in the morning. 2 in after noon and 1 at bedtime. I did not use that amount for long because my body calmed down a bit... and I weaned it down. for many years .. most of the time that I had been on it.. I took a half tablet twice a day and rarely at night. That is a very small dose. and I began to LIVE again.

I have never used alcohol and such things.. tried a bit of pot and didn't even like that.. .. I am not an addictive person except a bit to food.

I even had to give up the codeine which I do not like but it is the best cough medicine and that was my only use for it for the rare times I had a had a bad cough with the flu or whatever.

YOU ARE HUMAN BEINGS and YOU DESERVE pain relief and certainly anesthesia for surgery and such. It is a RIGHT OF WHATEVER you call God.. I call it nature in that sense because that is one of the things evolution does naturally when life is seeded on a planet.

As to experience I certainly got to experience the taking away of nature medicine that required an rx.

I am pleased some of you have found such for your chronic pains here in this thread.

I had some leg aching this morning before I went walking and I took ONE of my WILD LETTUCE caps which was plenty.. I just needed a bit of relief before I went to beat up my legs. it was my feet and ankles in this case today.

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO RELIEF and its God given to your intractable pain.. period.. YOU SEE.. YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO LIVE and that is what the MORPHINE did for ME :with love: KAN DAEK

Re: Kratom Works, It is Good Medicine
Kratom is the fucking devil. I started taking it. 2 grams. Then 3 gram. 4 gram. Next thing I knew I was taking 40 grams a day . Extremely hard to come off and the withdrawl is fucking real ! Do not start this stuff. It's extremely addictive and extremely hard to come off. Cigarettes were easier to quit !

see, this right here is why kratom needs to be banned

What an idiotic post. Ban sex, it is more addictive.

Re: Kratom Works, It is Good Medicine
The two times I've had kidney stones, I was taking Kratom, never again. That pain was more then what I was trying to prevent x100, but that's just me.
