Anonymous Coward User ID: 80237755 United States 06/02/2021 02:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Kratom's wide array of strains really make it one of the most versatile and effective medicines, not just natural/holistic meds but pharma as well. It is the perfect plant for opiod detox as well as getting through the first year of Post Acute W/d syndrome too. The red vein's are a miracle for even heavy opioid detox. ALong with other comfort meds, it can make any level of detox tolerable, if not comfortable. They can also provide pain killing effects for non-opioid tolerant people. It is great for sleep disorders as well. Over time, the opioid w/d can turn into more of a depression, with less energy, or mood swings, etc; Green vein strains are awesome when introduced at this point in the detox process. Green strains are excellent mood enhancers, pain relieving, energy enhancers and also help with psychological/mental symptoms such as anxiety or ADD. This goes for anyone, whether detoxing from opioids or just wanting a healthy boost in your life. White vein strains are primarily stimulating and can provide some form of euphoria. For the opioid detoxing, the addition of white strains in the morning can get your dopamine levels up and [allegedly] help rewire neuropathways that were damaged from opioid use. For the casual/everyday user, the white strains are excellent nootropics, and especially when combined with coffee (they are in the same plant family) provide energy and focus boosts that are actually noticeable, unlike most of these herbal "cure-alls". So, no matter what you're looking for, there's a strain for that. It sounds like the cannabis advocates who are always claiming "there's a strain for everything", but kratom doesn't provide the same type of psychoactive high that cannabis does, yet the effects are quite pronounced. You could, potentially treat nearly any common problem with Kratom, mixing strains allows for users to create the perfect combination of effects that suits them. Side effects are minimal if present at all, it's still possible to develop physical dependence on this, but the ADDICTION potential is not the same as physical dependence. Plus, the effects are usually noticed right away, its very affordable and while it's pleasurable effects tend to fade, the medicinal effects tend to remain. I have a lot of experience with pharmaceuticals and I mean a lot. I was in at the beginning of the oxycontin era but have also been on every anti depressant, sleep med, add med,anti-epileptic, hep-c treatment, etc, and I was on suboxone for 7 years before i up and quit without tapering. I had the kratom and the kitchen sink to throw at it, but i never would've believed kratom would have any effect on me because of my opioid tolerance. Same goes for being experienced with both meth and rx amphetamines, I didn't think kratom could compare or even be noticeable. I didn't think it could help my anxiety because of my benzo tolerance, either. Kratom WORKS. Granted, it can take more at first if you're using it for detox, but otherwise, it is actually effective at treating most disorders in place of pharmaceuticals. I'm still kinda back and forth with actually doing that, but I know that for even those heavily experienced in pharmaceuticals, Kratom is a life saver. For those who aren't, it can be the ultimate "bio hack" if used correctly. While many [smoke shop, gas station] brands may be generic, not list ingredients, or just plain shit, there are legit brands and this plant should not be brushed aside as another holistic "cure-all" or a "legal high", because it is IME more effective/less psychoactive than cannbis, with the potential to be nucleus of any supplement stack or medicine cabinet. I order caps for goldenmonk, they have excellent prices, service, and selection. P.S. I expressed its use in place of opioids, stimulants, and benzos/anxiety meds, but it can also help get rid of alcohol cravings and withdrawals, and pretty much any other substance potentially. I am an ex smack, speed, benzo, and booze addict, yet now I can drink with extreme self control, if I even care to drink. As I try to replace meds 1 at a time with kratom/other supplements, I notice the same goes for the meds, but i have a hard time committing to completely using kratom and no pharms. But, knowing that medicine will be more difficult to get ahold of in the future, I think everyone who is prepping to any degree, should buy some kilo's of kratom and keep them aside in case it gets regulated and the collapse results with meds being unavailable. I have spent most of my adult life looking for a cure all/alternative to riding the pharmacoaster, and kratom is the closest thing i've found, and it's not as intoxicating as cannabis. |

Cigarettes were easier to quit ! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67894868 i agree with cigarettes being easier, but I also think cigarettes are way easier to quit than people think. Just an excuse for people to justify their lack of real desire to quit. If the big tobacco companies have to fund anti-tobacco companies and quitting aids to convince you its impossible to quit, it's much easier than that. However, regarding the Kratom, you may consider it the devil, but you made the decision to start using 40 grams a day, whether you knew about the doses you were taking and the withdrawals or not, That is your fault 100%. If you were taking it cluelessly, then your ignorance is to blame. Otherwise, you're the worst type of addict, the one that believes the substance is to blame, because they cannot look at themselves or take responsibility. For every corner we cut in life, their tends to be a trade off in varying degrees. I was given painkillers from Norco's to Dilaudids to OC 80's to Fentanyl pops/patches in almost unlimited supply. I nearly killed myself and ruined my entire 4 years of college and the following 10+ years as well. The drugs are not the devil, the devil tempts people the best way he can, a new junkie with a seemingly unlimited supply is the devil at work, but I do not blame the substances or consider them the devil. If we, as a society didn't have demand for vices, the devil would stuggle to tempt us. Kratom needs to be respected and used appropriately and detox always needs to be factored in and an exit plan should always be in place. If you have the self control, Kratom can be a literal gift from God, not the devil, |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80237755 United States 06/02/2021 03:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few more thoughts, Don't use google to look into kratom. You'll be bombarded with websites claiming that kratom addiction requires opioids and pharmaceuticals to get off of and its a dangerous legal high that is essentially only available because of legal loop holes... DuckDuckGo will give you many different results. Don't bother with extracts or any new "novelty" products, such as kratom shots, tablets, etc. Capsules are far easier than dealing with powder, but also about twice the price if bought in capsule form, but if you're willing to fill capsules yourself, buying powder and some empty caps would be the best bang for your buck. Also, coffee is such a complimentary substance that its almost considered a requirement to take kratom with coffee. Grapefruit juice and Turmeric w/curcumin and black pepper, and magnesium are all good potentiators. If the FDA is trying to crack down on it again, then big pharma knows its good shit...buying it on the black market would seem so ridiculous, let's get more kratom advocates out there just like the cannabis movement has and look at the trouble they were willing to go through to get their medicine to be available legally. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80013689 United States 06/02/2021 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been taking kratom for a few years now for chronic pain and low energy. A couple of years ago a friend was talking to me often about trying cbd oil for pain instead because it worked for them. I tried it for a while instead of kratom and it did nothing for me and also made my liver enzymes go too high. I don't drink or take tylenol so that was the only thing I could figure out was causing it. But I was glad it helped my friend. I stopped that and went back to taking kratom. I don't know what I would do if it was banned and outlawed in my state. It has been a godsend for me. Are you taking it recreationally or are you taking it for detox purposes? if you're not combating withdrawals, just make sure you get the best quality, the strain with the effects you are most interested in, and use as many potentiators as you can. If you're taking it to get high or nod, then you're abusing it, and that would explain taking 30g a day. Being honest about why you're taking it and then doing all the research, is the only way you'll have a different outcome. |

I also have a high tolerance to synthetic NMDA antagonists(I binged on DXM and O-PCE a little too much) but I’ll try the magnesium. I know it works differently than the synthetic dissociatives. I take Kratom due to severe psychological and emotional suffering. Psych meds only make things worse for me. I prefer Kratom. Emotional pain can be worse than physical pain, so taking a painkiller feels justified. The high dose is a combination of my previous opioid experiences(I’ve used codeine dozens, of not a couple hundred times since I was 15. It’s OTC here) and the fact that my mental illnesses/demonic attacks are so severely painful that low doses don’t do much. Similar to how 2g of Kratom won’t do whit if your leg is broken in two. And with kratom as a replacement I am down to 2 days a week of drinking which adds to writing so I am not upset at the 5-2 ratio and am having fun with it. Holy! A few gel caps of red da maeng (1/2 gram caps) in the am (about 3) and then one every 2 hours and I forget about drinking at all. Until I feel the need to write so I just drink. There are no side effects. I tried to get 'high on it' and ate 5 grams but it ws all itchy and scratchy and sweaty so...meh, not my cup of tea. Seemed opiate like (I'm allergic to opiates). But just the maintenance cap here and there and I dropped all desire. I pretty much have to force myself to drink, since she is my muse. Quoting: Saint Lance the Odd from BC No doubt, it works, and I've seen it save lives. It's natural so you're escaping the Big Agriculture (alcohol) or Big Pharma (opiods) monopoly. On the downside, you definitely build up a tolerance and will start to feel like crap if you don't have it. It sucks especially when you need to travel to have to always remember to pack it and have a way to take it. Also, you will need more and more for it to work. I know people taking it for years and it can get to really crazy levels. But I'm glad to hear that you conquered your demon. Good luck and godspeed!
