People saying it is due to violence in video games dont know what the actual statistics are so I searched for them:

"Between 1993 and 2015, murders by juveniles acting alone fell 74%, murders involving multiple juvenile offenders fell 76%, and murders committed by juveniles and adults declined 58%."

Even still violence in movies is more visceral than fake characters in games. Many movies i wont even watch due to being too violent, games really don't effect me in that way, not to say they should be played by children younger tan what they are rated for. Even a child knows the ramifications of committing these types of crimes though. My point is if people want to believe video games make people violent that just doesn't seem to be the case when you consider statistically violence is even less prevalent than one or two decades ago.

One thing is true that since most here are adults say over 30 they get the impression of there being more violence due to their own personal awareness of it. Depending on where you grew up, the 70s and 80s were very violent times in most American cities and one can argue more violent than today.

Fairly certain this is shown in actual statistics...though not going to search more than the link provided. As far as these specific events, not going to even guess since not getting paid to.
