Those were the days when it was understood that there were adult things and children things. Parents said "no" all the time. There were rites of passage as a child aged. Now....anything goes. It's nuts.

perhaps this is why we did not have this problem when I was in high school---EVERY guy, well 99% of them anyways, had a gun in their vehicle and so did almost all the male teachers/coaches! and this was in the big city! A lot of the guys went hunting after school and almost every kid had shot a gun at some point in their life before high school!
Not sure WHEN people started being afraid of guns but it is out of control crazy and no wonder these crazies get a thrill off of that fear!

Didn't grow up in the big city, but it was not uncommon in highschool for kids to go hunting early morning, go to school, and go back out in the field after school. Rifles on their gun racks in the parking lot, bows etc. Never a problem, never a question about those tools.

Figure they make all kids take drivers ed, even if they have no intention of getting a license or driving, why shouldn't basic firearm education and safety be mandatory?

there is something to be said for denigrating a child in PUBLIC infront of the rest of his football team for the way he smells. Guys sweat! in this texas heat sometimes i am surprised teen boys dont smell worse than some of them do. you can only take so many showers and use so much of the foo sprays before others say enough! this kid was bullied im sure for his size and his smell in front of the team. probably EVERY . SINGLE. DAY. how would you take it??!
