No, not a morning person. Was up at 5am to see my daughter off to the airport (hubby took her so I could get son off to school), she is going to Canada for two weeks. Sniff

I got my tools in the clay section of Michael's. I then took a file and sharpened them to make it easier.

Ahhh, okay. I should've thought about a crafts store (it's been too long since I've done this). They've been building a Hobby Land here, and so many of us are jazzed about it. I'll have to see if it's open yet, otherwise I'll probably have to go to The Portal to Hell to see if I can find tools...or I could go to Las Cruces to find some.

I'M EXCITED.....

Seems like you've had a rough morning, though....I know I miss my son when he's not around for more than a week, so I'll let you be for awhile....

Yes, he emailed me. I think he is going slowly blind. Can't even see well enough most of the time to keep up with GLP much. We need too keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

Check a Hobby Lobby or someplace like that for pottery tools, that's what I made the little hoop-scrapers to resemble. they make them in all shapes and sizes.

They're normally used for carving or scraping designs into semi-dry pottery either by hand or by holding them against a spinning piece on a wheel.

The 'actual' tools are much sharper....I was just being a cheapskate and didn't want to buy the tools for my first attempt in case I sucked at it...lol My handmade ones worked so I just used them again the next 2 years but I still want to go buy the real ones, it would make things easier.

Plan on sharpening them occasionally. Makes the tool glide through the out flesh easier.

I suddenly now do NOT want to taste one of your cakes...
