I hate to say it, but often times the arguments people post here sound like they are written by people who don't actually think too deeply about anything and insult anyone that does as "having no life". I'm not referring to EVERYONE here, just a general type of poster. I'm sure there are a lot of awesome posters out there but the threads I've been reading haven't had a whole lot of them. One of the most interesting books I've read is called "Decoding the Message of the Pulsars" Most of the book is above my head scientifically but I understand enough to make it through the book. In summary part of the book is dedicated to describing how Pulsars show strong evidence that they are not natural creations but engineered for a purpose. After reading that portion of the book, the evidence pointing to this fact is rather overwhelming. Pulsars do incredibly strange things that we still have no natural explanation for. The other portion of the book is dedicated to using that evidence to try and determine a purpose for the pulsars. The author believes they have been placed to warn the Galaxy of some kind of super wave disaster that could end all complex life in the galaxy. Incredibly interesting and thought provoking book. If you have any background in science I'm sure you'd love it. I'd be down for discussion |

The tour guide I got was an astronomer that studies the birth of stars . I didn't know that and I asked him a comet question and he immediately disliked me . Looking through it again right now and realizing how much in there I have forgotten about. What seemed fascinating to me was that for any space travelling species to travel space, they would use these pulsars as a means of triangulating location and speed within the Galaxy. Navigation through space would be near impossible without these Pulsars acting as beacons or lighthouses. Let me know if you decide to get the book, we could start up a new thread. Peace |
