(OP) User ID: 54281869 United States 10/08/2014 11:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was 11 or 12 when my older sister noticed this happening with me (SLIder). It was at some point during Summer vacation from school and I was made/expected to test/show it to probably every child(or anyone walking by:-) in the neighborhood, if I remember correctly. It's on and off since then but I experience other phenomena with electronics. I hear my Grandmother did too. So, while it's not "as long as I can remember", it's definitely not "fairly new" so I voted the first Yes. *Edit, the "first" will be the most popular. I voted, "as long as I can remember". Anonymous Coward User ID: 3446 United States 10/08/2014 11:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am hoping more people can comment on this thread. This is of particular interest to me. I have found that the street light phenomenon has been with me all of my life. But I have ANOTHER "thing" as well--and yes, it could be just coincidence, but hopefully this thread will bring out others to corroborate my "thing".... But I think I cause people to trip. I mean physically stumble or trip or drop things or bump into things. It happens ALL the time. I am not doing ANYTHING physical in any fashion to affect the environment of people around me--but they seem to have brief moments of being LAME near me. Either it's ME, or I'm just hyper noticing things--like, if you want to buy a certain car, all of a sudden, EVERYONE HAS THAT CAR ON THE ROADWAYS! LOL!! Right? Anyway--just curious.... |

Quoting: Spazz Oh sheesh! Do you do rechargeables? Mine don't hold charges very long(when Not in use - Useless in an Emergency to have them 'fully' charged) and I've never considered it could be another weird effect. I wonder... "general mayhem" - (:-) |

Oh that is different. I'd say Not Coincidental, it's not usual to see people tripping all over the place.:-0 I think that's why it's usually funny, when it really isn't....I'm curious if this has made you immune to the funniness? I know what you mean about the car thing(!). I was applying it to something else the other day, too. If I remember what it was, I'll post it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 63552209 United States 10/08/2014 12:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Whenever I drive by or walk by a street lamp, it goes out. Sometimes turns on. It has happened so frequently that there's no chance that it goes out "coincidentally." So I googled it one day and found others had the same thing happen. It happens also with some other stationary lights. It's perplexing because no one can give an empirical reason why. |

You're electric! :-) These are the words of the British paranormal scholar Hilary Evans, who, prior to his death in 2011, “SLI… can reasonably be regarded as a phenomenon in its own right,” he argued." Anonymous Coward User ID: 42345947 United States 10/08/2014 12:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It sucks. I do the street lamp thing. Electronics in general that I use a lot don't last very long without constant upkeep. If I'm watching tv and I sneeze the picture usually breaks into pixels for a second. There is some cool things about it I guess but radios or anything with an antenna I jack up without meaning to. |
