Re: Do you experience Experience Phenomena with Electronic Devices? Are you a SLIder?
I'm able to move the pointer on my lap top by placing my pointer finger above my mouse pad without touching, not all the time but on occasion.

A young lady who is a friend of my daughter was telling me about how she was able to change traffic signals when she needed to cross a street or riding in a vehicle.

Strange how our bodies can affect electricity. Many people are effected by wireless signals or electric towers and can become ill by it.
 Quoting: Terrebonne

I turn off street lamps, sometimes several all at once. Usually I am very upset when that happens. I fry electronics, the iphone was the only phone I was able to handle without breaking. I drain the batteries from watches and cameras, so no watch for me since I lost my wind up one a long time ago. For the life of me I can not tune an antenna radio, if I put my hands near it goes to static...if I move my hands away the static goes away gradually.

Here is my favorite, I have caught myself being able to manipulate my ipad without touching the screen. I still need to be close enough to it, but not actually touching it to activate the screen.

I'm an RH- (like another poster mentioned) so maybe there might be something to that after all.

I youtube searched for "Sparks While Folding Laundry", and no results. But this did show up, and it's pretty adorable.

I really enjoy reading other's experiences, thank you everyone. The woman that told me about SLIders is a humanities professor at St. Petersburg College - and she also has a ghost-hunting group(fwiw). Before that, other than hearing about my grandmother's strange clock/radio experiences, I had no idea that there were others..

I stayed in this place for about 2 years. We lived on a hill, and this one street light would go out, when I went down the hill. It would come back on, until I started back up the hill, when it would go out again. Once I was back inside the home, it would come back on.

It did this about 95% of the time I would go for a walk...
Where I am now, there is no street light. I have noticed this in other places I have lived also. So it's no way "new" to me, so I also chose the first.

I used to work maintenance in a milk bottling plant. The minute i started my shift there was always electrical issues with equipment that had previously been running good. I would do my rounds and bam, the machines start acting haywire. I finish my shift and voila, everything starts running again.

I was thinking more about my blue arc car experience and I'm sure a few people (a mechanic and a couple mechanically-inclined types) were arguing that it wasn't possible because if there was an Arc, it would have meant there was a fire or something, I don't remember, but they didn't believe that I saw a blue light.

I was also thinking about my comment to you, and thought you could say the same to me! I hope that didn't sound like a command to 'prove it' :-) it just sounds really beautiful and laundry is one of my least favorite chores. I was thinking to tell you a successful repeat may have to do with the season, it might have to be during Spring, idk.

That baby video was just a little adorable, yes. :-) I love her little feet goin at it and didn't miss the knee-rolls (!).

Thank you and I hope you find what you're looking for :-)

I remember reading a story about a plumber who experienced this; he was told by his boss that he had to work some overtime when he didn't want to, leading to him becoming emotionally upset, leading to him frying the electronics in one of the tools he needed to use, leading to him being able to go home anyway because now he lacked the tools. I've never managed to turn this odd phenomenon to my advantage, but there are clearly ways!

I'm hoping the above poster might tell how he felt about his job...His situation almost sounds like a jinxing, because being the maintenance person, it was making more stress/work for himself. :-(

It seems there are mostly disadvantages, but let's re-cap the more advantageous effects,

2 people can use their mouse pad without touching it(!)
1 can change traffic signals(!!)
2-3 can jinx their employers(!)
1 can change tv channels with sneezes(!)

I'm very interested in the link between Emotions and Electromagnetism/Electricity!

" According to the RSPK model, these amazing demonstrations of mind-over-matter – of objects flying around houses and electrical equipment going haywire – occur as a result of sexual and emotional tension on the part of the “focus,” who more often than not is a troubled teenager undergoing puberty. Are the mechanisms at work in poltergeist disturbances the same as those involved in SLI?"

[link to mysteriousuniverse.org]

"Some of the first modern psychophysiological researchers to examine the conversations between the heart and brain were John and Beatrice Lacey. During 20 years of research throughout the 1960s and ’70s, they observed that the heart communicates with the brain in ways that significantly affect how we perceive and react to the world.

A generation before the Laceys began their research, Walter Cannon had shown that changes in emotions are accompanied by predictable changes in heart rate, blood pressure, respiration and digestion. In Cannon’s view, when we are "aroused," the mobilizing part of the nervous system (sympathetic) energizes us for fight or flight, and in more quiescent moments, the calming part of the nervous system (parasympathetic) cools us down. In this view, it was assumed that the autonomic nervous system and all of the physiological responses moved in concert with the brain’s response to a given stimulus. Presumably, our inner systems tooled up together when we were aroused and simmered down together when we were at rest, and the brain was in control of the entire process.

The Laceys noticed that this simple model only partially matched actual physiological behavior. As their research evolved, they found that the heart seemed to have its own peculiar logic that frequently diverged from the direction of the autonomic nervous system. The heart appeared to be sending meaningful messages to the brain that it not only understood, but obeyed. Even more intriguing was that it looked as though these messages could affect a person’s behavior. Shortly after this, neurophysiologists discovered a neural pathway and mechanism whereby input from the heart to the brain could "inhibit" or "facilitate" the brain’s electrical activity. Then in 1974, the French researchers Gahery and Vigier, working with cats, stimulated the vagus nerve (which carries many of the signals from the heart to the brain) and found that the brain’s electrical response was reduced to about half its normal rate. In summary, evidence suggested that the heart and nervous system were not simply following the brain’s directions, as Cannon had thought".

Ohhh,

"Magnetoception (or magnetoreception as it was first referred to in 1972[1]) is a sense which allows an organism to detect a magnetic field to perceive direction, altitude or location. This sense has been proposed to explain animal navigation in vertebrates and insects, and as a method for animals to develop regional maps. For the purpose of navigation, magnetoception deals with the detection of the Earth's magnetic field.

Magnetoception has been observed in bacteria, in invertebrates such as fruit flies, lobsters and honeybees. It has also been demonstrated in vertebrates including birds, turtles, sharks and stingrays
. Magnetoception in humans is controversial."

I just started a new job this week, while there is a mercury retrograde, I have been having nothing but mechanical/computer issues trying to train. I am two days behind because of this -- now it could all be just coincidental, but who knows these days. I know I have a lot on my emotional plate right now too and the pressure of learning a new position is very heavy.

As far as my co worker the judge, I am not sure he knew that about me at all, though I was reading some interesting books that he may have noticed (non fiction). The books he suggested that I read were modern westerns - doubt it fits, purely just book recommendations - or maybe to get me off the Forbidden History/Archaeology, etc. type subjects.

I do know my moods have a direct effect on this SLIder phenomenon - and it isn't easily controlled. I do know that when I had intense loving feelings and I was on a hike out at my favorite spot in nature, I saw a bush bloom into flower (yellow) right in front of me. I think those emotions can reach other frequencies and in my situation, I do believe the plant was responding. I had a similar experience in the past years ago.

Hard to talk about this with people I don't really know. I was doubted of these abilities when I was a child by my mother so it is a hard process.

Re: Do you experience Experience Phenomena with Electronic Devices? Are you a SLIder?
Tesla Spirit Radio

[link to www.youtube.com]
(watching for the first time, it's good!)

"Voices in the Aether

After his initial reception of enigmatic radio signals in 1899, Tesla worked for many years to perfect the receiving and transmitting equipment that was needed to better pick up and translate the possible alien broadcasts. At first the signals were nothing more than rhythmic sounds, almost a Morse code type of transmission he reported.

Around 1918, Tesla started to receive what he considered to be voice transmissions, except the voices he was picking up were not human. Instead, Tesla wrote that,

"The sounds I am listening to every night at first appear to be human voices conversing back and forth in a language I cannot understand. I find it difficult to imagine that I am actually hearing real voices from people not of this planet. There must be a more simple explanation that has so far eluded me."

In 1925 Tesla wrote that,

"I am hearing more phrases in these transmissions that are definitely in English, French and German. If it were not for the fact that the frequencies I am monitoring are unusable for terrestrial radio stations, I would think that I am listening to people somewhere in the world talking to each other. This cannot be the case as these signals are coming from points in the sky above the Earth."

Nikola Tesla may have been one of the first to receive strange radio signals that he thought were from beyond Earth, but he certainly wasn't the last. It is now known in the journals of Fortean that mysterious messages claiming extraterrestrial origins are being received repeatedly by ordinary, household electronics. Startled witnesses have reported strange signals emanating from turned off televisions and radios, as well as weird phone calls filled with electronic sounds and whispering voices. "

Hmm, what do they tell us when we learn how to take a pulse? Something about the blood pressure not being strong in the pointer and middle finger....so you don't confuse your own beats with the patient??

- maybe you have too much electricity/energy coming out and it's interfering...maybe if you hold your finger slightly above, you can do like Terrebonne and the A/c!

I was thinking about this too. :-) For me, my experiences and noticing the experience of others - as far as Supernatural/Paranormal (as in just about everyone has at least one spooky story:-) had me thinking for a fairly long time, that we're ALL odd.- Just to different degrees.

Then, recently, I had the thought that maybe that was some sort of rationalizing that I came up with to shut my older sister up :-)....but I don't think so.

Ha! I'm imagining all of us trying to purposefully do our things, in different places all over the world...Idk but I'm getting a slight giggle again.

It's a great thread! :greenkarma:
Thanks again to you and all who share their experiences. hf

So many are skeptical of phenomena they haven't directly experienced themselves. I can't help but wonder if that skepticism might be a contributor to why they don't. A lot of good food for thought on this thread. :)

I was also thinking about my comment to you, and thought you could say the same to me! I hope that didn't sound like a command to 'prove it' :-) it just sounds really beautiful and laundry is one of my least favorite chores. I was thinking to tell you a successful repeat may have to do with the season, it might have to be during Spring, idk.

smile_hear I didn't take it at all as a command :). And I hope some sparks may fly for you while folding as well!
I noticed the air was really dry that day, so maybe it's also more likely to happen during the cold Winter months. iwish

That baby video was just a little adorable, yes. :-) I love her little feet goin at it and didn't miss the knee-rolls (!).

Thank you and I hope you find what you're looking for :-)

I had a really memorable experience with crows too. One day a few years ago, as I was leaving my apartment building, I had a crow dive bomb the window above the door as I walked outside. About thirty mins later I left the building a second time and the crow did the exact same thing. The second time he hit the window really hard and fell to the ground beside me. He eventually got up and perched on a nearby fence watching me. About a minute later (while still next to the crow) I got a phone call from a friend that another friend had just passed away in England. I never could really understand that.

My father could not wear a wrist watch, mechanical or battery powered, they would always die in a day or so.

Whenever I'm in a rush, my computer or tablet or phone balks.
