No he didn't. He hit the throttle to cause the car to move out of the way. That's how a sprint car dodges something, they have to speed up a little to fishtail out of the way.

Tony needs to stop racing with people who are generally way below his skill level.

That is very true. I have wondered why he even bothers with sprint cars. He doesn't need the money which is chump change to him.

The only reason I can think of is he likes sprint cars and wanted to give young drivers the chance to compete against a high level driver. Nah....couldn't be that as I'm sure the Tony haters will inform me what the real reason is.

Tony attempted to spray the kid with dirt. This is common amongst dirt trackers( my old man was a race car driver for thirty years including sprints and midgets; so stick your " I don't know shit comments" ). Tony should have sucked it up been the bigger man and ignored it. He didn't and now should have to pay.

That's just downright stupid!

2) video of the incident shows Tony's car
swerving right instead of swerving left,
meaning he swerved into Ward intentionally.
This is evident by reflected lights and shadows on
the front tires of Tony's car. When one
swerves right, the front of the tires
go inward and loses light making it disappear
on video. This is what we see on Tony's
car. Ward was on the right side of Tony's
path and Tony swerved right to hit him.
You can also tell by the angle of the bumper.
making a left swerve should have turned the angle
of the bumper counter clockwise. the angle
of the bumper was increasing clockwise,
meaning swerving right. the video does not lie.

Tony is guilty and this will be proven in court.

In a 1949 case that Yung uses in his class, midget car racer Joseph Sostilio was found guilty of manslaughter after he tried to squeeze a four foot-wide vehicle through a two-foot opening at 40 mph, crashing into another car and sending it into the one driven by Stephen D. Bishop. Bishop’s car flipped three times and he was killed.

‘‘In sports we tend to allow all sorts of conduct we'd never allow in another circumstance,’’ Yung said. ‘‘But this isn’t a collision. It’s not in that ballpark; it’s something you don’t expect. This is a more complicated scenario. We’re assuming Stewart didn’t mean to do this, and yet a death resulted.’’
