Re: EXCLUSIVE: Crash Witness Says Tony Stewart Could Not Have Avoided Hitting Other Driver
Tony attempted to spray the kid with dirt. This is common amongst dirt trackers( my old man was a race car driver for thirty years including sprints and midgets; so stick your " I don't know shit comments" ). Tony should have sucked it up been the bigger man and ignored it. He didn't and now should have to pay.

I agree. Tony is considered one of the worlds best drivers or at least that what the announcers always say during the Sprint Cup races. Tony has raced thousands of races on dirt ovals.

Look at it this way. Tony just ran a driver up the track and into the wall which brings out the caution. Tony knows the caution is out. He knows why the caution is out. He knows this driver that just got taken out by him is going to be pissed. Tony knew he was out of his car. Where did Tony ever touch the brake. No brake, but you hear him accelerate. He meant to throw dirt at Kevin and it failed horribly.

Race fans should be reviewing old races that are on video from all the dirt tracks where shit like this has happened with Tony Stewart. I bet you would find some holy shit near misses. This time it didn't work for him.

I worked at one of the fastest asphalt 1/4 tracks on a safety crew for 9 years. My opinion is Tony could've easily avoided this incident, because he is one of the best at what he been doing his whole life.

What you people can't get through your thick skulls is that all drivers sign paperwork that includes that the driver assumes liability of their life if they get out of the car on the track during a race. Getting spun out is classic racing at its finest, and revenge is usually in the form of hitting the other driver's car with your car, not run in front of their car on foot pointing your finger.

1. Everyone else avoided him.

2. No brakes and steering wheel stuck and gas pedal stuck - that makes for "could not have avoided hitting other driver"

And you saw this, WHERE, exactly? It's certainly not in the videos....

And, btw, I'll take an eyewitness over a troll like you any day!! So stick YOUR "don't know shit comments".

Fuck you because I preempted your typical response. As for seeing it , it's all right there Fatso guns the throttle the rear end kicks out and he hits the kid. Was the kid right no but neither was joke.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1466471

You're a complete moron. The car kicked out to the left, due to tire stagger. The kid was on the right.

dude the kid didnt run down to the other cars passing him. He actually approached the car in front of tony and looked to be clipped a lil by mistaking it for tony's car. When he saw tony's car he was much closer and approached said car looking as if he grabbed the wing, not to mention sprint cars have wider right tires. I think he died from how awkward he hit the track. Wearing a helmet adds weight to the head putting a strain on the neck. You have to be a limp noodle to survive that kinda accident much like falling off a sports bike. Like internal decaps. Case in point dale senior's accident. The whipping motion from impact severed his spine. Added velocity of impact with added weight to head from helmet weak neck . Not to mention the kid wearing black, apex of corner, bad lighting. Its racing and he went into the wall, it happens. Seems to me he wanted to attract attention to get his name out there that he's the guy that gave tony a piece of his mind literally. Look its tragic but many lives are ruined because of one fact that everybody seems to be missing here. Never get out of the car ever, unless on fire. The kid wins the darwin award thats for sure for making a minor race incident into a tragedy. Immaturity and not understanding that this is racing and people wreck into one another. You dont need to throw a tantrum.

The sheriff is still quietly investigating. No one has been cleared yet. The Wards were important members of their community. I wonder if reality is starting to set in for Tony Stewart?

i have driven these cars, the right side board on the top wing will block out an entire car let alone a person standing there,i now work on the 45 car in the video and the driver said he just saw him at the last second and just missed him,Tony had even less time to react to the situation.people in the stands or watching this video have no idea how fast these thing happen and how limited our view is inside the car.it was a very bad turn of events that happened but we all know the dangers involved in the sport we love.

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Crash Witness Says Tony Stewart Could Not Have Avoided Hitting Other Driver
Can someone please explain what Tony Stewart was supposedly angry about. That seems to be the crux for why he hit the other driver. Why was He angry?

The kid is the one that had a tire go down, causing him to spin into the wall. Also everyone keeps claiming that Tony "Bumped" Kevin into the wall when he clearly has a tire down in the video.

But what did Tony have to be angry about?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51058629

More lies.

Ward's tire flattened because Stewart took him out into the wall, not before.

Stewart has had a long standing rage against Kevin Ward Jr. just as he does other young drivers, Joey Logano comes to mind as another.

Tony Stewart wants to be the best and he is right up there and can't stand to have anyone pass him up, especially a young person. So he pulls the same dirty tactics as he's always done and gotten away with it time and time again.

He should't get away with it this time, they need to make an example out of Tony Stewart.
 Quoting: More Lies 61114265

I don't think Wards car even hit the wall, the right rear tire blew out on the bounce of the car, sprint car rear tires have weak side walls. Happens all the time. If I have to guess two ply side wall. A tire off the wheel the sidewall falls onto itself.
