I agree. Tony is considered one of the worlds best drivers or at least that what the announcers always say during the Sprint Cup races. Tony has raced thousands of races on dirt ovals.

Look at it this way. Tony just ran a driver up the track and into the wall which brings out the caution. Tony knows the caution is out. He knows why the caution is out. He knows this driver that just got taken out by him is going to be pissed. Tony knew he was out of his car. Where did Tony ever touch the brake. No brake, but you hear him accelerate. He meant to throw dirt at Kevin and it failed horribly.

Race fans should be reviewing old races that are on video from all the dirt tracks where shit like this has happened with Tony Stewart. I bet you would find some holy shit near misses. This time it didn't work for him.

I worked at one of the fastest asphalt 1/4 tracks on a safety crew for 9 years. My opinion is Tony could've easily avoided this incident, because he is one of the best at what he been doing his whole life.

I think the only way he would have avoided this is if he would have stopped completely on the track before the corner. Ward Jr. for the slo mo video out there, appears to try to grab the car as it passed.

Professional drivers are highly trained in safety protocol. I saw nothing about Tony Stewart's actions that showed he was following safety protocol, and nevermind the other driver, because the focus here is on Tony Stewart.

Stewart wrecked Ward into the wall and he knew it, the CAUTION was up, Stewart was supposed to slow way down and he didn't, he knew damn well what he was doing as he stepped on the throttle running into Ward. He could have so very easily avoided Ward it's not even funny.

Stewart has plenty of money to buy off people to lie for him, which I believe is exactly what's going on here.

A regular person would never get away with something like this, so neither should Tony Stewart, Stewart should get no special favors.

The best they can do is make an example out of him. Tony Stewart should be charged with Homicide or Manslaughter and never allowed to race again.

Stewart has had a long standing rage against Kevin Ward Jr. just as he does other young drivers, Joey Logano comes to mind as another.

Tony Stewart wants to be the best and he is right up there and can't stand to have anyone pass him up, especially a young person. So he pulls the same dirty tactics as he's always done and gotten away with it time and time again.

He should't get away with it this time, they need to make an example out of Tony Stewart.

Nice try, but yes there are eyewitness accounts and when there's an ongoing investigation the witness are told not to talk about it with anyone else. Shake the dice and try again.

Interesting, it's odd as I can't access the videos in the OP.

It's also odd that, as I mentioned before, witnesses to the crime or "accident" if you will, are usually told by the investigators not to discuss the case with anyone, otherwise testimony gets tainted and they can't use it in court. This is standard procedure for investigations.

Anyone that knows anything about the court system is already aware of this.

So this tells me that whoever this supposed witness is, is a bogus witness, not really a witness at all, that they are nothing more than just a PR person hired to protect Tony Stewart's image.

For that reason alone, this thread should be unpinned

This is already rules and regulations on all tracks, and if you break them, you assume responsibility for your life and are solely liable if injured or killed. That's why Tony Stewart is an innocent man, and will remain that way. My opinion, if you're not old enough to be considered responsible enough to consume alcohol, then you definitely shouldn't be considered responsible enough to race cars that can go 140 mph on dirt.

And if this person is really a witness? You better believe their testimony won't be used in court, because it's already tainted by speaking to the public about it.

The witness was another sprint driver behind Stewart. Do you people not realize these drivers sign papers that say they acknowledge, and accept responsibility, that they could be seriously injured or killed if they get out of the car on the track without assistance from emergency response teams during a race? That's why it is not a criminal investigation and will remain open. The kid assumed responsibility for his life the moment he got out of his car, and there is no proof that Tony did it on purpose. Only a confession will confirm that. Too many other variables for anyone to come to that conclusion.

OK, I don't believe in the system anyway; so, in the court of publik opinion and TS conscience; I say guilty and he will never race the same again nor be viewed in positive light no matter how much he spends on PR.

The Sheriff and D.A. don't see any crimes committed, and will only charge TS if a grand jury rules that he be charged. Then it will go to trial. It won't though because of paperwork signed by all drivers that will ultimately show that Ward assumed responsibility for his life when he got out of the car on the track during a race. That very paperwork protects TS legally, and this is the part of the story you're not hearing so it can be dragged out and make a profit for the media.
