Re: The obsession to find truth, can also become an inability to see truth.
Have you ever had an overreaction to a situation? Somebody does or says something, you react and then wonder 'what made me do/say that?' That, my friend, is your shadow. When it's not integrated into your consciousness....it really runs amuck. lol All it takes is a trigger. All the ancients believed this as well. KNOW THYSELF was their most important message. All ancient initiations involved an inner journey. Christ says, "Clean the inside of the cup; then the whole cup will be clean." He also claims that the 'kingdom is within man'. You should read some of Carl Jung. His work was all about the shadow, and how its integration was like drinking from an eternally welling spring within oneself. I can back it up PERSONALLY.

I noticed that you totally ignored my points about the dangers of giving in to evil, but it doesn't surprise me.

I think that I know myself pretty well, and have very much taken an "inner journey" already.

Do you really think that I can write like I have been in this thread without having done extensive self-analysis beforehand?

But you said before that "shadow" was "Satan", and now you are saying you need to integrate it into yourself?

Everyone has a subconscious, you can't not have it integrated into you. The only question is what your subconscious is made up of, like I said before.

I work very hard to try and keep my mind clean, both my conscious and subconscious. That's why I resist evil so strongly, because it helps me to keep them clean.

Aleister Crowley said:

“This serpent, SATAN, is not the enemy of Man, but He who made God’s of our race, knowing Good and Evil; He bade ‘Know Thyself!’ and taught Initiation."

He was a very wicked and vile man, who embraced the darker aspects of well everything. He called on the powers of demons, in magical rituals, etc.

There is a massive difference between denying the existence of evil, and resisting the influence of evil upon yourself.

You keep failing to address the points that I am making, but I guess it's to be expected since it doesn't fit into your belief systems.

You can believe whatever you want, and I hope that you do. But don't expect me to buy into the flawed reasoning that we need to accept evil as a necessary part of us, because history has shown us that once you do that you usually start to do sick and twisted things.

I have a friend that is a massive fan of Crowley, and has many of his books. I have seen firsthand the negative impact it has had on his psyche, so don't bother trying to change my mind on this.

There is a difference between suppressing the evil within us, releasing it, and embracing it (or even inviting more in).

I am not denying that we are influenced by negative aspects in life, what I am saying is that you do not need to take them and make them a part of you.

That's what Crowley did, then he started doing lots of sick and twisted things trying to explore his "dark side."

Where does it even end by the way? Once you go down that path it usually leads to your demise. Did you know that many people who came into close contact with Crowley either went crazy and/or died young?

He died alone as a pathetic bankrupt drug addict, with almost nobody in the world giving a shit about him. That's what happens when you live a wicked and vile life the way he did.

Your condescending attitude is really starting to wear thin here, since you clearly don't understand any of this stuff.

Your reaction is typical shadow. I'm condescending? How? You asked questions, and I was trying to help. If anyone has been condescending it is you...to me and my friends. The other aspect of the shadow is projection. When we project onto others our own misguided perceptions. You could ask yourself why you are reacting hostile to someone who offers you help. THAT would be doing work on yourself. Or you can just believe what you want to. Later....

Trying to help me?

Ya that's it, I need help from someone who thinks that the subconscious is actually Satan!

You are simply delusional, and my asking hypothetical questions is not me asking you for help OK.

If you had an open mind like I do you would understand this, and not act like you have all the answers (as you very much are).

Typical shadow lol!

You don't have a damn clue what you are talking about, and it's painfully obvious.

You can't just base your beliefs on the teachings of others, you need to think for yourself OK.

You keep quoting people as if they were the authority or something. I don't think like that, which is why I clearly have a better understanding of these concepts compared to you.

Can't you see that I am only quoting Crowley to expose the flaws in his "teachings" since you have clearly fallen into the same trap yourself?

That's why what I have written here is my own beliefs and insights, and not just the teachings and views of others as you have done.

You helping me lol, that's rich!

I don't take anything as gospel, and I think for myself every single time. I don't need your help OK, so just drop the condescending attitude already since it's quite pathetic.

You are just like the OP here, and this clown Luke Swan acting so enlightened yet you don't have a damn clue how things really are. You watched some YouTube videos and got mind fucked, WOW I'm overwhelmed by your knowledge lol!

Ya later!
